Ghost of Yotei Reliquary of Resilience: Exact Location and Step-by-Step Puzzle Solution

Ghost of Yotei is packed with brainteasers, and the standout is deep in the Tokachi Range: the Reliquary of Resilience, where rotating stone foxes into alignment awakens the pillar and unlocks its reward.
Here’s a quick, no-fuss guide to one of Ghost of Yotei’s trickier shrine puzzles. The Reliquary of Resilience looks simple at first glance, but the statue-linking rules make it a little sneaky. Also, the game says wolves while you’re literally standing among fox statues, which is either lore flavor or someone had animals on the brain. Either way, here’s how to find it and nail it on the first go.
Where it is and how to get there
Head to the Tokachi Range. You’re aiming for the Serpent’s Pass area; work your way toward the Prospector’s Camp. From there, climb the cliff, go left and use the rock edges to scramble up to the top, then swing right. You’ll spot the Reliquary of Resilience pillar ringed by fox statues.
'Within the caverns of Mount Yotei, a lost boy surrendered to a tired sleep / The wolves stood guard / Looking toward the mountain'
That inscription is your hint. Despite the wolf talk, the goal is to have all the fox statues face inward at the mountain figure in the middle.
How the puzzle actually works
Every fox is facing out when you arrive. When you rotate a statue, the one next to it spins as well — specifically, the neighboring statue turns anticlockwise twice. That chain reaction is the whole game here. And because of that, rotating any statue twice makes its neighbor turn four times. Translation: plan your moves and don’t start randomly clicking.
Important: don’t touch anything until you’re ready to follow this exact sequence. I’m labeling them relative to you standing at the pillar: left/right and front/back from your viewpoint, facing the center.
- Left front statue: rotate once
- Left back statue: rotate twice
- Left front statue: rotate once
- Right front statue: rotate twice
- Right back statue: rotate twice
If you follow that order, all four foxes will end up looking inward at the mountain statue. If you bungle the sequence, don’t stress — just restart the checkpoint to reset the positions and try again.
What you get for doing it
Solving the Reliquary of Resilience rewards you with the Charm of Mount Yotei. If you already have it, this completion upgrades the charm instead.
That’s the whole thing: short, precise, and a little bit of animal identity crisis. Go get your charm.
