Genshin Impact Luna II 6.1 Drops: Find Your Exact Launch Time And Global Countdown

HoYoverse is dropping Genshin Impact Version 6.1 Luna II worldwide on October 22, 2025, right after a five-hour maintenance window—gear up for a massive update.
Heads up: Genshin Impact Version 6.1, aka Luna II, is basically here, and it’s a big swing. New character, new story chapters, a new boss, and a full-on UGC sandbox mode that’s clearly meant to be lived in. Here’s when it hits your server and everything that’s bundled in.
When Version 6.1 actually drops
HoYoverse is pushing Luna II live on October 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM (UTC+8). Expect the usual five-hour maintenance beforehand, so servers go down roughly five hours earlier. Because of time zones, North America actually gets the patch the evening of October 21; most everyone else sees it on October 22. Phase 1 starts the second maintenance ends.

What 6.1 actually adds
Miliastra Wonderland (UGC mode)
This is the headline feature: a full user-generated content suite baked into Genshin. Think Roblox or Fortnite Creative but dressed in Teyvat’s art style. You’ll build custom stages, mini-games, and challenges using Miliastra Sandbox, which comes with visual scripting tools so you’re not buried in code. HoYoverse has been teasing it with moody 'night of revelry' vibes, and yeah, it looks like they want you creating as much as you’re playing.
New character: Nefer (Dendro, catalyst)
She’s finally official. Nefer, the Dendro catalyst user people have been waiting on, debuts in 6.1. Lore-wise, she’s the resourceful owner of the Curatorium of Secrets, which probably tells you the vibe: clever, a little mysterious, definitely trouble-adjacent.
"Sounds like more trouble is blowing in."
Banners and timing
The patch keeps the usual two-phase setup. Phase 1 runs October 22 through November 11, 2025 with Nefer’s debut banner alongside a Furina rerun. Phase 2 takes over November 11 through December 2, 2025 with Arlecchino returning, plus a Zhongli rerun. Weapon-wise, the Epitome Invocation will feature Nefer’s 5-star catalyst, Reliquary of Truth; Furina’s Splendor of Tranquil Waters; Arlecchino’s Crimson Moon’s Semblance; and Zhongli’s Vortex Vanquisher.
Story: Song of the Welkin Moon continues
The Archon Quest moves forward with Act III: A Nation That doesn’t Exist and Act IV: An Elegy for Faded Moonlight. These pick up threads from Nod-Krai and tie back into the Luna storyline that kicked off in 6.0. If the last act left you with question marks, this is where some of them finally get circled.
New boss: Frostnight Herra
Nod-Krai also gets a new frost-themed boss, the Frostnight Herra. It drops ascension mats for Nefer (and likely a few future Dendro-adjacent releases), so if you’re pulling her, clear room in your schedule for a lot of ice breaking.
New weapons
Beyond Nefer’s 5-star catalyst, there are three fresh 4-stars: Moonweaver’s Dawn (sword), Dawning Frost (catalyst), and Sacrificer’s Staff (polearm). You’ll see them through Epitome Invocation and as event rewards during the patch.
Short version: Luna II is stacked. New character, new mode, new boss, and meaty quest content, all landing as soon as maintenance wraps on your clock. See you in Nod-Krai.
