With Version 6.1 Luna II past its midpoint, Genshin Impact is already charging toward a stacked 6.2: two fresh characters, headline reruns, and the next chapter of the Nod-Krai saga. Here’s everything shaping up so far.

Genshin Impact is already teeing up Version 6.2 while 6.1 Luna II winds down. The next patch, Luna III, brings two fresh faces, a stack of reruns, and the next leg of the Nod-Krai story. Here is the plan, what is official, and what is still very much in the rumor bin.

When 6.2 lands

HoYoverse is sticking to its six-week rhythm. Version 6.2 (Luna III) is slated for December 3, 2025, rolling out right after 6.1 wraps. Maintenance kicks off the night before for North America and should run about five hours.

  • North America: Dec 2, 2025, 6:00 PM–11:00 PM (UTC-5)
  • Europe: Dec 3, 2025, 12:00 AM–5:00 AM (UTC+1)
  • Asia & TW/HK/MO: Dec 3, 2025, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM (UTC+8)

Once servers are back, you can jump straight into the Luna III story beats, limited-time events, and banners. Yes, expect the usual Primogems for downtime.

Banners: who is where

The broad strokes are clear: two new characters debut, and several big names return. The finer points (exact order, 4-star lineups, some kit specifics) are based on leaks and may shift by launch.

Phase 1

Durin finally steps onto the playable roster with his first banner. Alongside him, Varesa gets her first rerun. There is also chatter that Venti could appear in this half depending on server rotation, but that part of the rumor mill is not aligned yet.

Durin (5★ Pyro Sword) is positioned as a Pyro DPS with a twist: leaks say he flips between two modes, Confirmation of Purity and Denial of Darkness. Each state changes his buffs and Elemental Burst behavior, which sounds tailor-made for Melt/Vape setups. He is also tied into the deeper lore web around Khaenri'ah and the Hexenzirkel.

Varesa (5★ Electro Polearm) makes her return built around explosive Plunging Attacks and team comps that lean into Electro synergies.

Featured 4-stars for Phase 1 are expected to include Jahoda, Gaming, and Chevreuse.

Phase 2

The second half is currently pegged to rerun Xilonen and, yes, Venti. If you are noticing Venti rumored in both halves, you are not wrong; different sources point to different rotations. Until the stream locks it in, consider him a schrodinger rerun.

Xilonen (5★ Hydro Catalyst) returns as a support who shreds enemy resistances and juices teamwide Elemental damage.

Venti (5★ Anemo Bow) is reportedly back with a new signature bow in the mix aimed at DPS-leaning builds.

Phase 2's 4-star lineup has not leaked yet.

'Durin: The Undying Fire'

Meet the newcomers

Durin and Jahoda were already teased in official drip marketing, so they are not just leak bait.

Durin (5★ Pyro Sword) carries a high-lore pedigree and a kit built for flexibility. If the dual-state design sticks, he should be the kind of Pyro carry who can adapt to different team needs without feeling locked into one rotation.

Jahoda (4★ Anemo Bow) hails from Nod-Krai and works as an actual, on-the-books employee of the Curatorium of Secrets. Around Nasha Town, she is the familiar face doing all the unglamorous work. In combat, leaks point to a hybrid healer/support: her Burst restores HP, and when allies are above 70% HP, she hands out an Elemental Mastery buff. Translation: she slots nicely into reaction-heavy squads that appreciate a light touch of sustain.

Story and launch-day stuff

Luna III continues the Nod-Krai storyline, and all the new quests and events unlock as soon as maintenance ends. The cadence is the same as always: patch goes live right after the previous one, six weeks on the dot.

Leaks vs reality

Banner order, 4-star selections, and parts of Durin/Jahoda's kits are sourced from leaks and can change. Expect the official livestream to settle what lands in Phase 1 vs Phase 2 and confirm the details. Until then, sprinkle all of this with the usual grain of salt.

Who are you pulling for in 6.2: Durin day one, a Varesa rebuild, or saving pity for a possible Venti return?
