One of the biggest celebrities of our time just spent an unthinkable amount of money on a Game of Thrones prop.

HBO's Game of Thrones has established itself as one of the most talked about shows of all time, capturing the minds of viewers faster than any other series before it, with the exception of Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. So, when House of the Dragon premiered last year, fans were eager to see if the spinoff show would live up to the hype.

Fortunately, it did, breaking many viewership records and getting glowing reviews from fans and critics alike. The story of the two branches of House Targaryen fighting and scheming for the Iron Throne proved to be packed with interesting characters and George R.R. Martin's trademark violence galore, making millions of viewers fall back in love with the world of the Seven Kingdoms.

And it looks like one of those millions was none other than Kim Kardashian, who shocked the world by buying Rhaenyra's crown, featured on the show, for $500,000.

Yes, you heard it right – Kim bought the prop for half a million dollars. While it may be ridiculous, since it's highly unlikely that the crown really costs that much, fans on Reddit decided to speculate about what that means.

Since Kim recently rented (and reportedly ruined) Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress and bought Princess Diana jewelry, people believe that the reality TV star is trying to buy her way into legendary woman status for fear of being forgotten.

People strongly believe that by buying the crown from the popular show, Kim is trying to ride the hype train without really caring about the character that wore it. And while spending such a large sum of money is certainly not a problem for her, many believe that it doesn't look like a power move, but it rather reeks of despair.

Others took the situation more lightly, joking that HBO needed to cover the cost of those glorious VFX dragons. A small number of fans even believe that Kim's purchase was just a publicity stunt to further fuel interest in the series.
