Gachiakuta Has Been Pushed Back—and English-Speaking Fans Win Big
As Gachiakuta enters its second cour of a 24-episode run, the English dub has been pushed back—threatening to sap momentum and lose dub-first viewers.
Quick heads-up if you have Gachiakuta in your weekly rotation: the show just flipped into its second cour, but the English dub is tapping the brakes for a couple weeks. If you watch dubbed, that is a bummer. If you do subs, you are business as usual.
What changed and when
Gachiakuta is a 24-episode season split into two cours. The first half wrapped, the second half kicked off with episode 14. The Japanese broadcast with English subtitles for episode 14 aired on October 12, 2025. The English dub for that episode will not drop until October 26, 2025 — a two-week delay.
The show’s official English X account flagged the slowdown on October 6:
"Heads up, Gachiakuta fans. Beginning with Cour 2, the English dub will be delayed. The English dub of episode 14 will now launch on October 26."
Why the delay matters
Gachiakuta blew up fast this summer and turned into one of the year’s buzziest action shonen titles, especially with Western viewers. The dub had been running smoothly alongside the sub, so a sudden speed bump right as cour 2 starts is not ideal. Some dub-only folks will likely pause or drop off. On the flip side, this might nudge people to try the Japanese track for a couple weeks — which, frankly, is a pretty solid way to watch this one.
Yeah, the sub hits harder here
The eternal dub vs. sub debate aside, Gachiakuta’s Japanese voice track just fits the show’s energy better. It is not that the English dub is bad — it is fine — but the original performances are doing heavier lifting. Rudo, Enjin, and the other cleaners sound strong in both versions, but the villains are where the gap shows: Jabber and Zodyl in Japanese are spot-on, with that extra edge you want from these characters. Cultural flavor and the way lines are shaped in the original script add a lot here.
