Frozen 3 Just Hit a Major Production Milestone

Kristen Bell says she’s already read the Frozen 3 script and that production is about to begin, teasing a sooner-than-expected return to Arendelle.
Kristen Bell just gave a real Frozen 3 update, and it actually moves the ball forward: it is happening, it is soon, and yes, she has seen a script. Bell, who voices Princess Anna, talked about it while doing press on Thursday at the season 2 premiere of Netflix's Nobody Wants This.
What she said (and what she danced around)
'Soon. That's all I can say.'
'I'm under lock and key. I don't even know if I can say the date.'
Bell told Variety she does have a production start date on her calendar, but she can't share it yet. She also said she hasn't heard any of the new songs. What she has seen is a script, though she described it as early-stage material: more of a 'here's where we think this should go' document than a locked draft.
She also gave a little peek at how Disney builds these things, saying the project runs through a ton of creative passes so different voices can add to it. Translation: lots of iteration by design, not chaos in the kitchen. According to Bell, that thorough process is why these movies tend to hit their marks.
Where this leaves Frozen 3 (and 4)
Frozen 3 is set for U.S. theaters in November 2027. It's the third feature after Frozen (2013) and Frozen 2 (2019). The first movie crossed $1 billion worldwide and picked up two Oscars; the second made even more at the box office. So, yeah, interest in round three is not exactly a mystery. And on top of that, a fourth Frozen movie is reportedly already in development.
- Production: Bell has a start date, but she can't share it yet.
- Script: She has seen it, but it's still in that early, concept-heavy phase.
- Music: She hasn't heard the new songs yet.
- Release: Aiming for November 2027 in U.S. theaters.
- Future: Frozen 4 is reportedly in the works.
