From Steaming to Lukewarm: Ranking Bridgerton Couples by Chemistry

So far, Shondaland has blessed us with three Bridgerverse couples, each of which has garnered a massive fan base. Seasons 1 and 2 of Bridgerton focused on the stories of the eldest Bridgerton daughter and son, Daphne and Anthony. The prequel, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, told the story of young Queen Charlotte.

But which of these couples is the fan favorite?

Although the choice is tough, fans on Reddit managed to pick the couple with the best on-screen chemistry with their upvotes. Here's how the rankings went.

3. Daphne and Simon

Daphne Bridgerton was the character who introduced us to the Bridgerverse, and she did that important job with style and magic. From looks and touches to dialogue and dancing — everything in her relationship with Simon Basset felt special and unparalleled… that is, until the next two couples arrived.

Although Daphne and Simon had probably the most steamy scenes in the Bridgerverse, they sometimes lacked intimacy. To some fans, their story seemed more about sexual awakening and discovering each other than deep love. This impression was probably reinforced by the absence of Simon in the second season.

2. Charlotte and George

The love story of young Queen Charlotte and King George is the most recent in the Bridgerverse and was created from scratch by Shonda Rhimes. It has more drama and an already established heartbreaking finale, which sets it apart from the other two stories. Still, for many fans, the royal couple became the Bridgerverse's number one.

From the second the two characters first laid eyes on each other, the chemistry between them was outstanding. Despite all the hardships, their arranged marriage turned into true love in the most natural and romantic way. Their relationship was intimate, passionate, and moving. Besides, Charlotte and George also had more steamy scenes than anyone else in the universe!

1. Anthony and Kate

Although Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma had fewer sex scenes than other couples (or maybe because of it), the chemistry between the characters was something else. The sexual tension they shared left no fan indifferent. Every detail, every little look and word, even breathing in each other's presence felt electric.

The enemies-to-lovers trope is always sexually and emotionally charged, but Kate and Anthony took it to a whole new level. Some fans claim that just the scene where Anthony takes a whiff of Kate after she walks past him can beat the hottest sex moments of any other couple.

Of course, the Anthony/Kate season also drew its fair share of criticism, mainly because it had too few happily-ever-after scenes between the two leads. However, for the majority of fans, Anthony and Kate's chemistry remains unmatched — at least until the next season comes out!
