From Rags to Regency Riches: Wealthiest Bridgerton Cast Members, Ranked
Stars demand sky-high salaries.
Bridgerton was an instant hit when it landed on Netflix in 2020. You only have to see a short clip of the period drama to realise it’s a pretty high-budget show. And, while it hasn’t been confirmed, each episode of season 1 was said to cost in the region of $7 million to produce.
This may well have increased in season 2 given the popularity of season 1 which the network would have hoped for but maybe not expected.
But how much are the cast members paid? And has appearing in Bridgerton helped any of the actors move up a level in terms of their net worth?
Well, once again, there is no official confirmation of how much each Bridgerton star earns for their role in the steamy drama. But there are some pretty hefty figures being bandied around about what some of the major stars are earning. And nobody is denying these figures are accurate.
For example, Regé-Jean Page was reportedly offered $50,000 per episode to return for season 2 but turned it down. So, you’ve got to presume he’s doing alright for himself. And that gives you an idea of how much the network is prepared to pay to secure the actors they want.
So, let’s take a look at the Bridgerton Rich List (or at least some of the stars of this mega cast):
11. Charithra Chandran
Aged just 26, Charithra Chandran plays Edwina Sharma, the one-time love interest of Anthony Bridgerton. Prior to landing this part, her only previous main role was in the spy thriller Alex Rider. Her net worth is estimated to be around $500,000.
10. Nicola Coughlan
Perhaps best known for her role as Clare Devlin in Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls, Nicola Coughlan plays Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton - who is eventually revealed as the anonymous Lady Whistledown voiced by Julie Andrews. Nicola’s net worth is estimated at around $1million.
9. Jonathan Bailey
Jonathan Bailey portrays Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest child and now head of the family. He was the leading character in season 2. His net worth was estimated at around $1.5 million before this, so it could well be significantly higher now.
8. Polly Walker
56-year-old Polly Walker plays the Featherington family matriarch, Lady Portia whose slightly garish fashion is only slightly less brassy than the schemes she dreams up in an attempt to marry off her girls. Polly has starred in hit TV shows such as Line of Duty and HBO’s Rome and has amassed an estimated fortune of around $1.5 million - $2 million.
7. Simone Ashley
Simone Ashley got her breakthrough role playing Olivia Hanan in Sex Education before going on to play Kate Sharma – the leading lady in season 2 of Bridgerton. Still, in the early stages of her acting career, Simone was one of Variety's Brits to Watch in 2021 and has an estimated net worth of between $2 million and $4 million
6. Claudia Jessie
Claudia’s first major acting role saw her play WPC Annie Taylor in the British police procedural WPC 56. She kept up the ‘policing’ career as DC Jodie Carter in season 4 of Line of Duty before landing a main role as Eloise, the fifth Bridgerton child. Her net worth is estimated at around $5 million.
5. Adjoa Andoh
Having appeared in numerous roles on TV and stage Adjoa has been in some classics including Dr Who, MI High and Eastenders. She’s also had some meaty theatre roles in Royal Shakespeare Company’s Troilus and Cressida, Julius Caesar and The Odyssey. Her net worth is estimated at $5 million.
4. Ben Miller
Comedian and actor Ben Miller, 57, has had a varied career that has seen him appear in a sketch show with his good friend Alexander Armstrong, play a detective in Death in Paradise – and even be considered (allegedly) for the role of James Bond. He plays series regular Lord Featherington and is believed to have a net worth of around $5 million.
3. Phoebe Dynevor
After making her acting debut as Siobhan Mailey on Waterloo Road, Phoebe Dynevor had several other TV roles before landing the part as the fourth Bridgerton daughter, Daphne. She’s also appeared in three films, The Colour Room, Bank of Dave and Fair Play. And she’s an ambassador for ActionAid UK. So, she fully deserves her estimated fortune of $11 million.
2. Golda Rosheuvel
Golda Rosheuvel plays Queen Charlotte who is based on the real-life Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Queen Consort of Great Britain and Ireland from 1761 – 1818. Rosheuvel’s net worth is estimated to be between $15 and $18 million.
1. Julie Andrews
Julie Andrews – of The Sound of Music fame – voices the narrator Lady Whistledown and it won’t surprise you to know the legend has a huge estimated net worth of $30 million. And thanks to Bridgerton, Andrews is now one of the highest-paid voice actors, reportedly earning $1.5 million per season for her narration as Lady Whistledown.
