From Meet-Cute to Mayhem: How Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein’s Rom-Com Went Off the Rails

Brett Goldstein says filming Jennifer Lopez’s Netflix rom-com Office Romance in Hoboken became a nightmare as paparazzi swarmed the set and complicated every scene.
File this under: hazards of filming with one of the most famous people alive. Brett Goldstein says making his Netflix rom-com with Jennifer Lopez was lovely… until they stepped outside. Then it turned into, in his words, a nightmare.
What happened on set
The movie is called 'Office Romance,' and they shot in Hoboken, New Jersey — just across the river and not far from Lopez's home turf in the Bronx. Goldstein told USA Today that the production itself was smooth, but the moment they tried to film scenes outdoors, the paparazzi swarmed and everything ground to a halt.
"The shoot was a dream. The two days we filmed outside were, forget it, just because of paparazzi everywhere. It was a nightmare."
He even joked that if he and Lopez ever team up again, he is writing it so every single scene is indoors. No exterior shots, no exceptions.
Where things stand with 'Office Romance'
The movie has people talking already, but there is no release date yet. Expect Netflix to plant a flag when it is closer to the finish line.
The rumor mill (because of course)
Earlier this year, Goldstein and Lopez were spotted at the Broadway show 'Oh, Mary!' together, which kicked up dating speculation. Neither of them has addressed any of that, and there is nothing official to report.
Goldstein has another romance out now
While chatting about all this, Goldstein was promoting his Apple TV+ sci-fi romance 'All of You,' which is currently streaming. He stars opposite Imogen Poots; they play college friends Simon and Laura. Different vibe, fewer telephoto lenses.
