Season 38 just wrapped, so it feels like the right time to check back in on the duo that steamrolled their way to the win in Season 37. If you were rooting for the Brooklyn best friends, yes, they’re still very much living their best lives.
Quick refresher: Who won Season 37?
Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge, longtime Brooklyn BFFs and proud Dungeons and Dragons nerds, won the whole thing — and the $1 million — after one of the most locked-in runs of the season. Their calm, nerd-brain problem-solving and the kind of communication you only get from years of friendship kept them out in front when it mattered.
The finish: a late-game sweep to the Miami mat
They didn’t just win — they closed hard. Dodge and McCalley finished first three legs in a row to end the Race, then hit the final mat in Miami before anyone else during the finale that aired on CBS on May 15, 2025. If you were wondering whether it felt as surreal to them as it looked, they pretty much said exactly that.
"Oh my god, what more could you want? I feel like the luckiest person in the whole world. I’m overwhelmed. And to do it with my best friend, it’s just the most magical thing ever," Jack said after the win.
"Every single day, we woke up, and we laughed, and we had a blast. I could not ask for anybody as amazing as [Jack] in my life, or on this race. Being on this race and being with Jack reminded me how much of a gift he is in my life. That just meant the world to me," Carson added.
So where are they now?
Short answer: still creating, still thriving, and still doing it together.
- They never stopped making stuff: Carson and Jack are actively posting on their streaming channel, Dweeb Wars.
- They have a new project brewing: in July 2025, they said they plan to put some of that Amazing Race prize money into creating a board game.
- Life outside the Race is good: Jack is dating Michael Mort, and Carson is dating Alex Cortinas. Both have been pretty open on social about feeling grateful and happy post-Race.
Bottom line: Season 38 might have just crowned a new winner, but Season 37’s champions haven’t slowed down. They won with brains and chemistry, cashed the check, and are now building things — and relationships — that look like they matter just as much to them as that finish line in Miami.
