First Look: Liam Hemsworth Suits Up as Geralt in The Witcher Season 4 Poster and Release Date Reveal

Netflix drops the first official poster for The Witcher Season 4, unveiling Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt and finally confirming when fans can return to the Continent.
Netflix dropped a new poster and, more importantly, a date for The Witcher Season 4. Yes, Geralt has a new face, and no, they are not pretending otherwise.
Release date and poster
Season 4 hits Netflix on October 30, 2025. The reveal came with a fresh poster of the core trio united: Geralt of Rivia (now played by Liam Hemsworth), Princess Cirilla 'Ciri' of Cintra (Freya Allan), and Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) standing shoulder to shoulder. Netflix also pushed the news on social, leaning into the whole 'the war never ends' vibe for these three.
The Geralt handoff and where this is all heading
Liam Hemsworth officially takes over as Geralt from Henry Cavill for the last two seasons of the show. He said back in 2022 that, as a fan, he was thrilled to take on the role. Behind the scenes, Netflix and the team are treating Season 4 as the penultimate chapter, with Season 5 set as the finish line.
'It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.'
Production-wise, Seasons 4 and 5 are being filmed back-to-back — a very 'let’s land the plane' move that should keep the momentum (and continuity) intact.
What they are adapting
The final stretch draws from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. If you know those books, you know we are heading into the blood-and-betrayal heavy portion of the saga with a lot of shifting alliances and personal reckonings.
New faces, familiar names
Laurence Fishburne joins as Regis, a worldly barber-surgeon with a past you probably do not want to poke too hard. He called joining the series exciting and said he is looking forward to diving into the Continent. The casting bench gets deeper from there: Sharlto Copley shows up as ruthless bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy plays Skellen, and Danny Woodburn is Zoltan.

Where the story picks up
Season 3 left Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer scattered by war and betrayal. Season 4 keeps them on separate tracks for a bit, with new allies and makeshift families entering the mix. Expect the paths to crisscross, the stakes to spike, and the consequences to actually stick this time. Inside baseball: the show is telegraphing a big, book-driven endgame, and the back-to-back shoot suggests they want it to feel like one continuous final act.
