The final showdown is drawing near.

Season 9 of The Masked Singer has undoubtedly seen the most intense competition to date. From the start, it was clear that extremely gifted artists would be vying for the Golden Mask.

However, the level of performance displayed has exceeded all expectations.

On 10 May, another contestant was eliminated in a nail-biting semi-final round. Surprisingly, the five-person band Pentatonix was shown the door, leaving Macaw and Medusa to compete in the finals. So, which of them has the most viewer support? Let's find out!

Macaw made his debut on The Masked Singer midway through Season 9. Right away, he had to prove his worth by battling Fairy for a spot in the next round. Fortunately, this secured his position in the season and allowed him to smoothly progress through Week 10 – a purely performative week without eliminations.

Macaw then performed in the quarter- and semi-finals, wowing the audience and judges alike with his velvety vocals. According to a Gold Derby poll, nearly three-fourths of respondents want Macaw to win Season 9 of The Masked Singer. With 71% of the votes, he stands a strong chance of taking home the Golden Mask.

The top prediction for the artist behind Macaw is David Archuleta.

On the other hand, Medusa has had the longest journey to the finals this season. She performed and battled through the first three weeks of the show and the Battle of the Saved. She then showcased her diverse musical range, delivering a heartfelt rendition of Adele's Someone Like You in the quarter-finals and a powerful performance of Hozier's Take Me to Church in the semi-finals.

Though perhaps a tad aggressive at times, Medusa has garnered 28% of the votes. She is arguably the judges' favourite.

The top prediction for the artist underneath the Medusa mask is Bishop Briggs.

With that said, the finale of The Masked Singer Season 9 promises to be tough. Two distinct artists with vastly different styles will contend for the top prize. Tune in to Fox on 17 May to see whether Macaw or Medusa emerges as the winner.
