FBI’s explosive Season 8 fall finale sparked fears about Jubal Valentine’s future — now Jeremy Sisto teases whether he’s staying put and how the fallout will shake up the team.

If you finished the FBI fall finale wondering if Jubal just torched his career along with everything else, you are not alone. Jeremy Sisto finally weighed in on where things stand after that very loud midseason cliffhanger.

So... is Jubal leaving?

Short answer: it doesn't sound like it. In a chat with Us Weekly about FBI Season 8 Episodes 9 and 10, the 51-year-old Clueless alum said Jubal is bracing for a disciplinary call, but the bigger picture might save him.

"He's definitely waiting for the call, but I think he might skirt this one because it was such a big win for the agency. And at the end of the day, we really saved a lot of lives, and so I think, in reality, that is going to take precedence, and he's going to not have to pay consequences."

Translation: he crossed lines, but the case ended with a win, and that win might outweigh his mess in the eyes of the Bureau.

Quick rewind: what Jubal actually did

The midseason finale put him in a brutal spot. After his son, Tyler, was knocked unconscious when he got caught up in an explosion by accident, Jubal stormed a hospital room and interrogated a suspect. He pushed way too far — to the point where his tactics became abusive. Then he pulled himself back before doing something irreversible, saved the main villain's life instead of acting on revenge, and still managed to bring that guy in. So yeah, he went rogue to protect his family, but he also closed the case and kept people alive. Messy? Absolutely. But not career-ending, if Sisto is right.

What's coming next

Sisto also teased a couple of upcoming stories, and they sound like a shake-up in tone and scope:

  • Danger hits unusually close to home for the entire team in a way the show hasn't tried before.
  • Jubal gets out from behind the desk for a kidnapping case that plays more like a Law and Order-style investigation — boots on the ground, less office-bound.

When does FBI come back?

New Season 8 episodes resume on February 23, 2026. Yes, 2026. It's a long wait, especially after that finale, but at least it doesn't sound like Jubal's packing up his desk.
