That would definitely be a hit.

With only two seasons under its belt, Netflix's Bridgerton got its own spin-off miniseries earlier this year. And while expanding the universe at such an early stage might've been a dubious decision for any other show, for Bridgerton, it has been a blessing in disguise.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story fit perfectly into the Bridgerverse and turned out to be pretty much the favorite chapter for many fans. Most importantly, it paved the way for new exciting romantic arcs modeled after Queen Charlotte and King George's two-timeline love story.

With several of Bridgerton's older characters already beloved by viewers, the possibilities for various solo prequels are limitless — and creator Shonda Rhimes is fortunately not opposed to the idea of new spin-offs. However, she is not ready to make any promises just yet.

'There's no plan to explore anybody in particular,' Rhimes told Hello in May when asked about the next spin-off.

Well, the Bridgerverse fans are ready to pick a character themselves! While discussing who should be next for a solo show, some fans didn't hesitate to mention the mother of Kate and Edwina Sharma, Mary.

'I want to see Mary Sharma's story in a spin-off,' a fan wrote on Reddit. 'The love story with Mr. Sharma and the process of Kate and the three becoming a family will help us understand Mary's behaviour and character in Season 2.'

While Mary was a small character in Season 2, her story left many viewers wanting to delve deeper.

According to the facts mentioned in Season 2, Mary was the diamond of her season, just like her daughter Edwina. No doubt she had many suitors. However, she fell in love with a single father, an officer below her social status, and fled with him and his daughter Kate to Bombay against the wishes of her family and the Queen.

Mary's story is certainly dramatic enough and worthy of being adapted by Shonda Rhimes.

Besides the scandals, life challenges, and cross-class romance, it also has great potential to show everyone's favorite Season 2 protagonist, Kate, in two different timelines: the past, with some heartwarming scenes of Mary bonding with young Kate and falling for both father and daughter; and the present, where Mary witnesses the happy family life of Kate and Anthony — which, let's face it, we're all longing for.
