The Buccaneers is sailing back: Apple TV+ has ordered Season 3 of Katherine Jakeways’ lavish period drama, which premiered in November 2023 and returned in June, starring Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Matthew Broome, and Josh Dylan.
Apple is keeping the corsets in rotation: The Buccaneers is officially coming back for Season 3 on Apple TV+. Deadline says the renewal is locked, which tracks, given how Season 2 ended and how loud the fandom got about it.

The Buccaneers is a historical drama created by Katherine Jakeways. It stars Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Matthew Broome, and Josh Dylan. Season 1 hit Apple TV+ in November 2023, and Season 2 followed in June 2024.
Where Season 2 left everyone (and why Season 3 makes sense)
- The friend group went through it: love, heartbreak, motherhood, jealousy, and even the English legal system got involved.
- Nan (now the Duchess of Tintagel) spent the season torn between her husband, Theo (Guy Remmers) — the enigmatic Duke of Tintagel — and her long-standing big love, Guy (Matthew Broome), who also happens to be Theo's world-traveling best friend. Messy, yes.
- In the finale, Theo abdicated so he could divorce Nan and marry Lizzy. Meanwhile, Nan bolted from Tintagel with a pregnancy secret she had just confided to Lizzy. Subtle, this show is not.
- On the inside-baseball front: a new potential villain is waiting in the wings. Theo's secret half-brother, Kit, was summoned at the end of Season 2 to take over as the new Duke of Tintagel after Theo stepped down. So, yes, we are pulling surprise siblings out of the fog now.
