Fallout Season 2: Plot, Release Date & Everything We Know
The second chapter is already in the works.
The Fallout series has become one of the brightest releases of the year, surprising everyone by making the list of best video game adaptations. Not surprisingly, the project was renewed for a second season just a week after its release.
The adaptation skillfully maneuvered between the preferences of fans and ordinary viewers, allowing Fallout to receive warm reviews and attract a new audience for other products in the franchise.
What Will Season 2 Be About?
The first season ended with a clear indication of the continuation and development of the mysteries of the post-apocalyptic world. The former caretaker of Vault 33, Hank MacLean, will definitely return to the screens.
We should also expect the return of the trio of main characters: Lucy, who was born in the Vault, Maximus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel, and Cooper Howard, a mutant mercenary who survived the apocalypse.
The project will clearly continue to reveal the secrets of the Vault-Tec Corporation that built the shelters, one of whose past executives was Hank MacLean. At the same time, viewers are promised a new look at the company's past, which was responsible for many of the experiments conducted on humans in the underground shelters.
Judging by the final shots of the first season, several key locations from the franchise's video games will appear in the next season, including the city of New Vegas and the surrounding Mojave Wasteland. This is where Hank MacLean went.
The appearance of this settlement may also hint at the return of factions important to the series. For example, the autocratic Caesar's Legion, which previously appeared in Fallout: New Vegas. This is indirectly confirmed by the words of the project's producer, Jonathan Nolan, who promised a greater number of iconic monsters and factions from the games.
Will the Events of the Series Affect the Games?
The final credits of the eighth episode of the first season show in more detail the streets of the Strip district, where the largest casinos of Las Vegas were located before the war.
The abandoned appearance of the city suggests that the balance of power has changed and the settlement is clearly no longer under the control of its former owner, RobCo Industries CEO Robert House. The latter already appeared in the series in the scene of the pre-war meeting of the Vault-Tec Council in 2077.
The events that take place in the Mojave Wasteland will help us understand which of the multiple endings of Fallout: New Vegas will be considered canon.
Todd Howard, executive producer of Bethesda and head of development for the latest games in the series, has previously stated that the events of the Amazon series are part of the overall story and are connected to other projects in the franchise.
Season 2 Release Date
The official release date for the second season has not yet been announced, but judging by the pace of production of the first eight episodes of the series, the continuation should be expected only in 2026.
However, new episodes of the project may appear earlier, as one of the heads of the Amazon series direction, Vernon Sanders, said that the second season already has a finished script.
Perhaps, Fallout will meet with viewers again next year, because filming was planned to begin at the end of 2024.
