Fallout Season 2 Drops Early on Prime Video — Release Date and Time Revealed
Fallout fast-tracks its return: Season 2 hits Prime Video a day early, now premiering December 16, 2025 instead of December 17.
Good news for anyone itching to get back to the Wasteland: Fallout Season 2 is arriving a little ahead of schedule — and then sticking around week-to-week. Yes, it is only one day earlier, but I will take the win.
When it drops (and how to watch it)
Amazon MGM Studios bumped the Prime Video premiere up from December 17, 2025 to December 16, 2025. Unlike Season 1, which hit all at once in April 2024, Season 2 is going old-school weekly and will run through early February.
- Episode 1 — December 16, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 2 — December 24, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 3 — December 31, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 4 — January 7, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 5 — January 14, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 6 — January 21, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 7 — January 28, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
- Episode 8 — February 4, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
Quick note because the wording elsewhere has been a little fuzzy: only the premiere moved up by a day. The rest of the season rolls out weekly on the dates above, all at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on Prime Video.
What story are we getting this time?
The show lives in the Fallout game universe, but it is not a direct retelling of any specific game plot. That was the plan from the jump. Back in 2024, executive producer Jonathan Nolan explained why the team — in step with Bethesda Game Studios boss and series executive producer Todd Howard — wanted a fresh corner of the map rather than a straight adaptation.
"[The series] would be in a new locale with new characters and a new story that connected to all of the other stories, honored all of the other stories, maybe helped to amplify some of the pieces of the other stories but that fit and played well with all those other pieces."
Translation: new faces, new place, same Fallout DNA — with a few threads tying back to the games for the lore-hungry among us.
