Channing Tatum says Avengers: Doomsday blew him away with its scale — and reveals that Gambit gets a bigger, action-heavy spotlight than anyone saw coming.

Channing Tatum is finally getting to throw cards as Gambit, and he sounds genuinely stunned by just how huge Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be. He talked about it in a new chat with Deadline, and the way he describes the scale makes it sound less like a movie and more like an amusement park ride someone built on the moon.

Tatum on the size of Doomsday

Tatum knows the Avengers brand usually means runaway box office, but even with that context he says this one is on another level.

"Look, everyone in the world is going to see this movie... They’ve topped themselves every time. This will be the biggest movie of next year and maybe even the next 10 years."

He also talked about reading what the Russos cooked up and basically wondering how anyone plans to pull it off. His words, not mine: think Everest-level climb. He says he does a ton of action in this, but even that is just a small slice of what the movie is attempting. Translation: Gambit is busy, but the film is a monster.

So what is Gambit doing in all this?

He did not spill plot specifics, so do not expect card-by-card spoilers. The takeaway is more vibe than detail: massive scale, big swings, and Tatum being in awe of the whole apparatus. He literally asked himself, 'How are they going to do this?' which, honestly, same.

The cast is a traffic jam of superheroes

Marvel is packing this thing to the rafters. Alongside Tatum as Gambit, here are the players currently on the board, per the latest round of confirmations and returns:
