Everything Twilight Cast Said About Potentially Reprising Their Roles

Twilight fans have been waiting for years to return to the town of Forks, and it looks like their prayers have finally been answered. The Hollywood Reporter broke the heartwarming news yesterday that a new series based on Stephenie Meyer's novels is in development at Lionsgate Studios. The project will reportedly involve Meyer, Sinead Daly, Wyck Godfrey, and Erik Feig, but there's not much else known about it.

Of course, people would be happy if the series featured familiar faces, allowing fans to catch up with the beloved characters. But are the actors ready to return to the Twilight universe?

Here's what the original cast had to say about reprising their Twilight roles in the years following the franchise's finale.

Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

The Twilight Saga launched Stewart and Pattinson's careers, and the A-listers are busy with their current projects. However, they both recently expressed their love for the franchise and confirmed, albeit jokingly, their willingness to return. Stewart didn't miss a beat when answering ET's question about going back to the franchise.

'Yes, absolutely. Honestly, start sending scripts my way. Let's start building this,' the actress exclaimed with a touch of irony.

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)

Pattinson wasn't far behind his co-star in joking about his possible involvement in the Twilight revival.

'I've literally talked to my agent about it. The amount of time I spend moisturizing — I am ready to play 17 at a moment's notice. I've got the botox out,' the actor told Variety with a laugh.

There's a grain of truth in every joke, right?

Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black)

Unlike his former love triangle partners, everyone's favorite werewolf actor is serious about reprising the role of Jacob Black.

'He's a good character that is easy to love, so I would never say no to that because it's Jacob Black. He's a lovable guy,' Lautner told E! News.

He added that, years after his heart was broken by Bella and healed by Renesmee, he was sure Jacob was living a happy life.

Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen)

If Twilight gets a sequel, the best source for it would be Midnight Sun, Meyer's novel that was published in 2020. The book tells the story of Twilight from Edward Cullen's perspective, and Kellan Lutz loved the book so much that he is willing to play Emmett in its adaptation.

'I so wish we could make a movie with [Midnight Sun]. Emmett has so many more funny lines in that one. It's awesome,' the actor told ET Canada.

Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)

Lutz's on-screen sister Ashley Greene chimed in in the same interview with ET Canada. When Lutz expressed his excitement about the Midnight Sun adaptation, the actress reportedly asked if she could be involved.

Besides, with her podcast dedicated to the franchise, Green is probably the most connected to Twilight of all the original cast members, so it seems only natural that she would reprise her fan-favorite role.

Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale)

Rathbone told Hollywood Life that he would return to the vampire franchise if a sequel expanded the universe.

'I feel like reboots are, in this day and age, inevitable,' the actor said. 'However, if they were to do something more along the lines of expanding the universe of Twilight, something I would be fascinated by are prequels. I'm talking about Jasper's backstory.'

Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen)

The actor who played the patriarch of the Cullen clan is also ready to reprise his role. He told People that he loved his character and enjoyed playing him. If given the opportunity, Facinelli would return to the role 'in a heartbeat.'

Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee)

Twilight's youngest star, Mackenzie Foy, was just nine years old when she played Bella and Edward's daughter, Renesmee. However, her memories of the franchise are fond, and the 22-year-old actress didn't rule out the possibility of reprising her role when she spoke to Hollywood Life.

While not all cast members have clearly expressed their opinions about returning to the Twilight universe, the majority of them are willing to reprise their roles, and that's a great treat for all the Twihards out there. Fingers crossed!
