Every Villain in the Marvel's Wolverine Trailer — Plus 3 We’re Dying to See Next

Claws are out as the first trailer for Wolverine’s upcoming PlayStation game unleashes a stacked rogues gallery and teases brutal showdowns ahead.
Insomniac just dropped the first real look at Marvel's Wolverine gameplay, and yeah, it is as brutal and bloody as you'd hope. The trailer also doubles as a roll call for Logan's biggest headaches: lots of cybernetic freaks, big metal murder-bots, and a couple of fan-favorite X-villains. I scrubbed through it frame by frame so you don't have to. Here's who shows up, and who I want to see next.
Every villain I clocked in the trailer
- The Reavers - The cyborg militia Wolverine carves through are almost definitely the Reavers, a group of mutant-hating extremists who swap out body parts for hardware. They're led by Donald Pierce, have ties to the creation of Lady Deathstrike, and if they look familiar, it's because they were the bad guys in 2017's Logan.
- Omega Red - Straight out of '90s X-Men and designed by comics legend Jim Lee, this Russian mutant/serial killer has been KGB-tinkered into a twisted super-soldier. His Adamantium tentacles boost his nasty mutant trick: releasing deadly pheromones known as "death spores."
- Prime Sentinel - The hulking unit choking Wolverine out looks like a Prime Sentinel, as seen recently in X-Men '97. These start as regular humans infected with nanites, then flip into sleeper-agent mode and activate as mutant-hunting cyborgs. Fun.
- Mystique - She pops up mid-trailer, sheds a disguise, and starts wrecking Reavers in what looks like their own base. Classic Mystique move. Whether she's friend, foe, or that chaotic thing in between? The trailer isn't telling.
- Bastion - Speaking of disguises, Mystique's initial look sure resembles Bastion, the X-Men '97-era mastermind who created the Prime Sentinels and has a very clear agenda: wipe out mutantkind with shiny, advanced weaponry.
- Sentinel - The trailer closes on a massive Sentinel, the OG mutant-killing robot. Big, relentless, and notoriously hard to put down. That tracks with the trailer's whole anti-mutant cyborg-and-mech theme.
Three villains not in the trailer who absolutely belong in the game
Silver Samurai - One of Wolverine's most striking foes: a mutant who channels energy through his sword. Stylish, lethal, and tailor-made for a combat-heavy game like this.
Lady Deathstrike - With the Reavers in play, her arrival feels like a matter of time. She's an assassin with a personal grudge against Logan, and her Adamantium bonding left her with those gnarly, oversized talons. Perfect boss-fight material.
Sabretooth - The must-have. Wolverine's bloodthirsty arch-enemy, a feral killer with a healing factor to match and messy history with Logan that never really stays buried. If he's not in here, what are we even doing?
Bottom line: the trailer is a love letter to Logan's nastiest cybernetic and mutant-hunting enemies, with a couple of deep-cut nods for the X-Men '97 crowd. If Insomniac layers in the rest of the heavy hitters, this roster could be ridiculous in the best way.
