Every Song in Good Fortune, Keanu Reeves’s Heavenly Comedy — The Complete Soundtrack Guide

Angel meddling, diner-side smokes, and a wall-to-wall soundtrack: Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune leans into Keanu Reeves’ comedic cool, powered by a new score from Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell.
Aziz Ansari made a big swing with his directorial debut 'Good Fortune': Keanu Reeves plays an angel, the movie leans hard into money-vs-happiness questions, and the soundtrack is stacked enough to make you wonder if the music budget had its own angel investor. Also yes, there is a shot of Reeves smoking outside a diner. Priorities.
So what is this thing?
Ansari stars as Arj, a guy scraping by and running on vibes. Reeves shows up as Gabriel, a literal angel who reports to heaven but keeps an eye on Seth Rogen's Jeff, a loaded boss type. Gabriel delivers the standard 'money does not buy happiness' talk, then actually swaps Arj and Jeff's bodies to prove it. Plot twist: having money fixes a lot of Arj's problems and he starts enjoying life. Capitalism: 1, celestial HR: 0.
Because he meddled with humans, Gabriel gets fired. Meanwhile, the newly humbled Jeff ends up working for Arj and tethered to Gabriel as the fallout piles up. The movie peppers in little modern-life bits along the way — one track title in the score flat-out tells you that Arj texts while driving and crashes. Subtle? Not really. Funny? Often.
The music is a flex
The score is by Carter Burwell — yes, that Carter Burwell — the Oscar-nominated composer behind 'Carol', 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri', and 'The Banshees of Inisherin'. The 'Good Fortune' score dropped today, and it pairs cleanly with a bunch of needle drops that swing from classic house to French pop to Selena. It is very much a vibe for a Keanu-led comedy about an angel who overdoes it.

Keanu in comedy mode (and yes, it works)
Since 2014, Reeves has basically lived in the public brain as John Wick, which will typecast a person fast. 'Good Fortune' gives him something totally different: playing a winged do-gooder who is both ethereal and, at times, wonderfully petty. Critics have been into it, calling out how easily he flips between angel and mortal without mugging for laughs. It is not a cartoon; it is wry and weird in the right places.
