Inside One Piece’s fiercest resistance: the Revolutionary Army, led by Dragon, father of Monkey D. Luffy, is now the World Government’s most dangerous enemy. From Bartholomew Kuma to Sabo, its powerhouse commanders are built to smash a corrupt regime—and they’re ready to strike.

If you only half-pay attention to One Piece headlines, here’s the cheat code: the Revolutionary Army is the other superpower in the world besides the Marines and the Yonko, and it’s run by Luffy’s dad. They’re not just political agitators; their top brass can scrap. Some of them hard-counter Admirals. Some of them literally turn people into better versions of themselves. And a few are still wrapped in mystery that Oda drip-feeds like it’s top-secret intel.

Big picture: who these people are and why they matter

Led by Monkey D. Dragon, the Revolutionaries exist to tear down the World Government’s oppressive rule. That means their Commanders aren’t just speeches and pamphlets. They’re fighters with Devil Fruits, Haki, and a habit of surviving things you’re not supposed to survive. A couple of them are founding members. A couple of them used to be famous for very different reasons. And yes, one of them is now literally called the Flame Emperor.

Monkey D. Dragon

Dragon is the Supreme Commander and the guy the World Government brands the World’s Worst Criminal. The funny part: we still don’t actually know what he can do. The best hint we’ve ever gotten was back in Loguetown when he saved Luffy from Smoker and a sudden, suspiciously convenient blast of wind hit. Fans have been betting on a weather or wind-based Devil Fruit ever since, maybe even something legendary-tier. Considering Luffy and Garp both have Conqueror’s Haki, it wouldn’t shock me if Dragon does too. He likely taught Sabo the hand-based Ryusoken style at some point, but until Oda opens that particular vault, Dragon remains the coolest black box in the series.

'World’s Worst Criminal'

Sabo

Dragon’s right hand is Sabo, Luffy and Ace’s sworn brother and current Chief of Staff. He grew up in a mess, supposedly died, and instead ended up sharpening his skills with the Revolutionaries. At Dressrosa, he ate the Mera Mera no Mi and inherited Ace’s fire powers, which cranked his stock way up and earned him the title everyone now whispers like it’s a prophecy:

'Flame Emperor'

Even before the fruit, Ryusoken made him scary; he basically crushed Vice Admiral Bastille’s skull and sent Jesus Burgess flying with a Haki-boosted kick. Sabo moves like a cat on caffeine and has the survivability to match — he got out from under the same roof as Imu and the Five Elders. He’s an Armament and Observation Haki user, his current bounty is unknown, and his old one was 602,000,000.

Bartholomew Kuma

Kuma is a founding Revolutionary, a former Warlord, and the guy who once broke the Straw Hats so cleanly it felt unfair. The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi lets him repel anything he touches, fire off shockwave-like blasts, and literally slap people across the world. He’s also a Buccaneer — a race rumored to carry giant blood — which explains the size, strength, and why the World Government treated him like a walking red flag. On top of that, he’s a heavily modified cyborg with an armory in his body, and his endurance is unreal; he still escaped Mary Geoise while torn to shreds. Armament and Observation Haki? Yes. Bounty? 296,000,000.

Emporio Ivankov

Another founding member, Ivankov commands the G Army (the Grand Line front) and wields one of the wildest Paramecia in the series: the Horu Horu no Mi. It lets him inject custom hormones for everything from gender swaps to emergency stamina buffs — insanely versatile mid-fight. He’s a huge, agile brawler using Newkama Kenpo, tough enough to handle Impel Down’s Level 5 Freezing Hell, and theatrical enough to weaponize style. The makeup? Not just fashion. It’s a shield that helped against Akainu and Magellan. He even wiped the floor with Sanji once, which still stings to type. Bounty is at least 100,000,000.

Karasu

Karasu runs the North Army and is sitting on a 400,000,000 bounty, which tells you how seriously the Government takes him. He uses the Susu Susu no Mi, a Logia that turns him into soot and gives him full control over it — handy for splitting into flocks of soot-crows and taking the fight airborne. He’s shown Armament and Observation Haki, and the highlight reel moment so far is going even with Admiral Fujitora and countering gravity like that’s a normal Tuesday. It isn’t.

Belo Betty

Betty took over the East Army from Ginny eight years ago and has the second-highest Commander bounty here at 457,000,000. Her power is not about punching harder; it’s about making everyone else want to punch harder. The Kobu Kobu no Mi lets her rally people and crank up their fighting spirit, which is the scariest kind of social buff in a world built on morale. She turned terrified Lulusia civilians into a fighting force in minutes. She also has Armament and Observation Haki.

Morley

Morley leads the West Army, and she’s both a giant and a newkama, which is a terrifying combination. She tangled with Admiral Ryokugyu and walked away just fine. The Oshi Oshi no Mi lets her knead the ground like clay, dive underground, or swallow enemies in huge dirt clumps. Physically, she outmuscles almost anyone not named Kaido, and she’s important enough to get a nod from Doflamingo, which is its own weird badge of respect. Armament and Observation Haki are in the toolbox, and her bounty sits at 293,000,000.

Lindbergh

Our cat mink tinkerer commands the South Army — and yes, I’ve seen him mislabeled as West in some rundowns, but it’s South — with a 316,000,000 bounty. As a mink, he’s a natural-born fighter with Electro and a Sulong form in his back pocket (we haven’t seen the Sulong yet). More importantly, he’s a weapons nerd on Vegapunk-Franky-Queen levels. He zips around on a jetpack and brings custom toys like the Cool Shooter and Laser Shooter to fights. He’s the quiet kind of dangerous that catches you flat-footed.

Inazuma

Deputy Commander of the G Army and a familiar face from Impel Down. Inazuma fights with a kind of precise, elegant savagery you don’t forget — remember those wolves? His Choki Choki no Mi lets him turn limbs into scissors and slice through basically anything, including the battlefield itself, which makes him a walking terrain hazard. Haki hasn’t been confirmed for him, but it would fit. Bounty is at least 100,000,000.

Quick stats, all in one place

  • Monkey D. Dragon — Supreme Commander, Founder — Powers unknown (strong weather/wind Devil Fruit is the prevailing theory; likely Conqueror’s Haki; connected to Ryusoken via Sabo) — Bounty unknown
  • Sabo — Chief of Staff — Mera Mera no Mi (fire Logia), Ryusoken, Armament/Observation Haki; 'Flame Emperor'; crushed Vice Admiral Bastille, booted Jesus Burgess, escaped a night involving Imu and the Five Elders — Bounty unknown (previously 602,000,000)
  • Bartholomew Kuma — Co-Founder — Nikyu Nikyu no Mi (repels anything, shockwaves, long-range teleportation), Armament/Observation Haki; Buccaneer with rumored giant blood; heavily modified cyborg; endurance monster — 296,000,000
  • Emporio Ivankov — Co-Founder, Commander of the G Army — Horu Horu no Mi (hormone injections: gender change, stamina boosts, etc.), Newkama Kenpo; stood Impel Down Level 5 cold; makeup functions as a shield effective against Akainu and Magellan; beat Sanji — At least 100,000,000
  • Karasu — Commander of the North Army — Susu Susu no Mi (soot Logia: body/flight/crow constructs), Armament/Observation Haki; fought Fujitora evenly and countered gravity — 400,000,000
  • Belo Betty — Commander of the East Army (succeeded Ginny eight years ago) — Kobu Kobu no Mi (inspires and amplifies fighting spirit), Armament/Observation Haki; rallied Lulusia’s citizens — 457,000,000
  • Morley — Commander of the West Army — Oshi Oshi no Mi (mold the ground like clay, burrow, battlefield control), Armament/Observation Haki; giant newkama; stood up to Ryokugyu; acknowledged by Doflamingo — 293,000,000
  • Lindbergh — Commander of the South Army (often mislabeled as West) — Mink Electro, Sulong potential, custom weapons (Cool Shooter, Laser Shooter), jetpack; inventive mind on par with Franky/Queen/Vegapunk — 316,000,000
  • Inazuma — Deputy Commander of the G Army — Choki Choki no Mi (turn limbs into scissors; cuts stone/metal; terrain manipulation); Haki unconfirmed but likely — At least 100,000,000

That’s the lineup. It’s a weird, wonderful mix of bruisers, brainiacs, and miracle-workers, with a couple of total question marks at the top. If Dragon’s power is anywhere near what fans think it is, the next time the Revolutionary Army makes a move, the weather forecast might as well be a spoiler.
