DCI Jeanette Kilburn is back on duty—bringing a no-nonsense edge to the toughest investigations.

Paramount+ is keeping the lights on for The Crow Girl. After the first run landed earlier this year, the psychological thriller is officially coming back for a second season. Good news if you like your crime stories with a side of church-wall mummies and freezer corpses. Yes, really.

Season 2 is official, and it starts right where we left off

Eve Myles is back as DCI Jeanette Kilburn, with Katherine Kelly, Clara Rugaard and Victoria Hamilton also returning. New faces are on the way, but those announcements are still to come. Cameras roll in Bristol later this year.

What the new season digs into

  • We pick up the very next morning after the season 1 finale. Jeanette has ended her marriage and wakes up in bed with Dr Sophia Craven, an enigmatic psychologist.
  • Jeanette is still tracking the people killing young male asylum seekers, and the case gets uglier fast: a mummified body turns up sealed inside a church wall, and another body is found in a freezer. The two discoveries connect in a way that is... not comforting.
  • As Jeanette chases the thread, Sophia starts eyeing Victoria Burkeman, her former patient. Victoria is described as mysterious and unstable, and she already has multiple murder convictions on her record.
  • The deeper they go, the stranger it gets. Sophia begins to suspect Victoria might be more personally connected to her than she realized, and Jeanette is forced to consider the worst-case scenario: the killer might be closer than she ever imagined.

Behind the scenes

The series is produced by Buccaneer Media, with writer and executive producer Milly Thomas returning. She says she is genuinely excited to dive back into the world of Jeanette, Sophia and Victoria and show off what the team has cooked up with Buccaneer and Paramount+.

What Paramount+ is saying

"We're delighted to be continuing our partnership with Buccaneer on The Crow Girl. The first season captivated audiences with its bold storytelling and standout performances, and we can't wait to see where the team takes the story next."
- Sebastian Cardwell, deputy chief content officer, UK for Paramount+
