Evan Peters has not always played monsters.

Today, there's hardly any viewer who hasn't seen one or two projects starring Evan Peters, as most of his recent films and shows have become hits and garnered a huge following. In addition to American Horror Story, which launched his career, Peters portrayed Quicksilver in the X-Men franchise, Detective Colin Zabel in Mare of Easttown, and of course, the infamous Jeffrey Dahmer in Monsters.

But even before Peters' face was on every magazine cover, the actor had an interesting career.

With guest roles in such iconic projects as The Office, House, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, and more, the young performer proved his acting talent was great and diverse. One of Evan Peters' earlier and most tragic roles, which most fans don't even remember today, was for Mark Schwahn's drama series One Tree Hill.

Airing from 2003 to 2012, the show focused on the lives of two brothers during their high school, college, and post-college years, as well as the challenges of growing up in a small town. Peters only appeared in six episodes of Season 6, playing the supporting character John 'Jack' Daniels, but his short arc on the show was truly heartbreaking.

Jack was introduced as a high school student with a troubled background. His parents had passed away, and his brother Xavier Daniels, played by Devin McGee, became his primary caretaker. Xavier was the season's antagonist and a destructive force in Jack's life. He constantly abused his younger brother and was involved in criminal activities.

In Season 6, Xavier attacked and robbed protagonist Brooke Davis, killed a student, and held Jack and his love interest Sam Walker captive. In the end, Xavier went to jail for his crimes, and Jack left the town for a foster home. However, this finale didn't seem to be a happy ending for Peters' character, who lost all his family members and felt extremely lonely as a result.

Although Evan Peters' time on One Tree Hill was short, this role was one of the most notable in his early career. A true testament to the actor's incredibly diverse range, this small part is certainly worthy of fans' attention.
