After a rocky road to season 3, HBO’s Euphoria is gearing up for its wildest run yet, locking in a star-stacked mix of fan-favorite returnees and buzzworthy new faces.

It has been three years since Euphoria season 2 left everyone staring at the ceiling, and in that time Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer basically turned into household names. After a long, messy delay, HBO finally has season 3 moving. And yes, the cast list is massive.

Where things stand with season 3

The new season was slowed down for a bunch of reasons, but production quietly kicked off earlier this year. One big creative shift: there will be a time jump, which nudges the characters beyond high school. That always felt inevitable; good luck pretending this crew is still racing to third period.

The cast: a very eclectic roster

Deadline says HBO is rounding out the ensemble with a mix of recognizable faces, deep cuts, and a few names that might make you do a double take (yes, that Eli Roth; yes, that Trisha Paytas).

  • New additions: Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Natasha Lyonne, Rebecca Pidgeon, Sam Trammell, Trisha Paytas — Returning from the original ensemble, beyond the headliners: Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Dominic Fike, Melvin Bonez Estes, Nika King, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, Zak Steiner — Core returning cast: Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Colman Domingo — Previously announced newcomers: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Anna Van Patten, Asante Blackk

So what does season 3 feel like?

Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie, says to expect chaos in the best way. She clearly loves pushing the character to the edge with creator Sam Levinson. The pull quote version:

'This season is unhinged.'

She also talked about how Cassie is a beautiful mess who makes terrible choices for complicated reasons, and how Levinson is always game when she calls to say, basically, 'let's go bigger.'

No premiere date yet, and HBO is keeping the plot under wraps. What we do know: the show has jumped forward in time, the cameras are rolling, and the cast list is stacked in that only-Euphoria way where Oscar nominees, Gen-Z breakouts, athletes, directors, and internet personalities somehow all make sense in the same universe.
