Emma Stone’s Bugonia Locks In Digital, 4K, and Blu-ray Release Dates
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the digital, 4K, and Blu-ray release dates for Bugonia, Yorgos Lanthimos’s latest dark comedy for Focus Features starring Emma Stone. Adapted from the 2003 South Korean cult hit Save the Green Planet!, it follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men on a twisted mission that spirals into psychological mayhem.
Heads up, Lanthimos fans: Bugonia is coming home. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment just set the digital and disc dates for Yorgos Lanthimos' latest for Focus Features, the Emma Stone-led dark comedy-thriller adapted from the 2003 South Korean cult favorite Save the Green Planet! If that combo sounds a little wild, it is, and that is exactly the point.
What this one is
Bugonia finds Lanthimos back in his happily deranged lane, with Stone leading a cast that tilts from funny to unnerving without blinking. It riffs on Save the Green Planet! but steers into its own voice: two true-believer conspiracy guys abduct a high-powered CEO because they are convinced she is an alien planning humanity's demise. Things get... messy.
"A wildly entertaining psychological thriller, the film follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap a powerful CEO they believe is an alien out to destroy humanity. What begins as a paranoid act spirals into a battle of delusions and control—one as viscerally unpredictable as it is provocative."
