Did Emma Roberts Physically Abuse Evan Peters? What Really Happened The Night Of Her Arrest

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters are about to share the screen again, which is great TV news with a messy side of history. If you remember their tabloid era, you know why. Here is the quick refresher on what happened, how their relationship ping-ponged for years, and why their American Horror Story reunion is going to have people talking.

The 2013 incident that blew everything up

Back in July 2013, Roberts was arrested at the Hotel Le St-James in Montreal after police were called about a fight in her and Peters' room. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that when officers arrived, Peters had a bloody nose and what was described as a bite mark. Roberts was taken into custody but released a few hours later because Peters did not want to press charges.

People close to Roberts told TMZ they had been hitting each other during the altercation, and that she did not bite him, pushing back on the bite detail specifically. Their reps put out a joint statement to People at the time that tried to shut it all down:

"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

How they got together (and broke up, and got back together...)

Roberts and Peters first sparked relationship rumors while filming the 2013 indie Adult World, and they started dating soon after. What followed was years of on-and-off that could fill a whole season of TV on its own.

• Jan 2014: Peters proposed in New York City over the holidays with a pink gold and diamond ring.
• June 2015: They called off the engagement and split after about three years together. The vibe at the time was basically: they needed to grow, and probably not together.
• Aug 2015: Spotted out at dinner a couple months later and started dating again.
• May 2016: Broke up again.
• Nov 2016: Reportedly rekindled. Because of course.
• March 2019: Finally split for good after roughly seven years of back-and-forth.

After the final breakup, a source told Us Weekly the relationship had gotten very toxic — huge highs, then days without speaking — and that Peters took time to regroup before dating again. He later went out with singer Halsey.

Back together... on TV, anyway

The last time Roberts and Peters worked together was American Horror Story: Apocalypse in 2018. Now they are both set for Season 13 of the anthology, and the cast list is stacked. Along with Peters and Roberts, the lineup includes Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange. Ryan Murphy Productions rolled out the announcement on Instagram, and the teaser brings back one of the show’s most meme-able lines from Coven, courtesy of Roberts' character Madison Montgomery:

"Surprise, b*tch. I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me."

Because AHS loves to shuffle actors through different roles, the fun question is whether Roberts and Peters end up sharing scenes — and what kind of characters they are playing this time. Given their very public history, the curiosity factor is baked in.
