Emily in Paris is back on Netflix today, capping its latest season with cliffhangers and unresolved romances that all but scream Season 6 — even as Netflix keeps quiet on a renewal.

Emily in Paris Season 5 just landed on Netflix today, December 18, 2025, and it ends with enough dangling threads to knit a scarf. Netflix hasn’t stamped a formal Season 6 renewal yet, but between the finale’s cliffhangers and a not-so-subtle hint from the top of Netflix, it sure feels like Emily is not done with Paris (or Rome, or yacht kitchens, or postcards from Greece) just yet.

So... is Season 6 actually happening?

Officially: no announcement. Unofficially: the strongest wink you can get without a press release. During Netflix’s Q3 2025 earnings call, co-CEO Ted Sarandos rattled off a list of returning heavy-hitters for 2026, and he name-checked Emily in Paris right alongside them.

"I wanted to give you a little bit of color into 2026. We're really particularly excited about a few things coming up next year, like the returns of some of our biggest and most beloved shows like Bridgerton, Beef, Emily in Paris, One Piece, Outer Banks, Virgin River, The Gentlemen, Avatar: The Last Air Bender, Running Point, Ginny and Georgia, Lupin, all coming back for new seasons in 2026."

It’s not a renewal notice, but it’s a pretty loud hint. Netflix also tends to keep buzzy, binge-friendly titles running, and Season 5 ends with the kind of emotional cliff edges that practically beg for a follow-up.

Where Season 5 leaves everyone (aka: why Season 6 feels inevitable)

  • Emily and Gabriel: After his stint as a private chef on a yacht, Gabriel reconnects with Emily one more time. Then, after hearing from Sylvie that Emily had broken up, he mails her a postcard inviting her to Greece. Their unresolved thing is very much unresolved.
  • Marcello: Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini) seemed like the dream reset when Emily was in Rome — supportive, steady, the anti-Gabriel. But once Emily realized Paris still had its hooks in her, they split. He moved back to his family’s business in Solitano. Will he pop back up? The show loves a well-timed return.
  • Mindy: Mindy (Ashley Park) is engaged to Nico in Venice, but her quick detour with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) won’t stop echoing. Alfie even tells her she’s making "a big mistake," and the vibes suggest she’s not over him.
  • Sylvie and the agency: Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) says Agence Grateau is sinking, so she heads back to Paris with an equity partner: Princess Jane. She’s now the co-head, which sounds like jet fuel for workplace chaos.

So what about Marcello in Season 6?

Right now it’s a toss-up. He’s in Solitano, Emily is back in Paris, and the clean break felt, well, pretty clean. But this show has a history of opening doors it pretends to close. If Emily needs a nudge (or a complication), don’t be shocked if he resurfaces.

What to expect if/when it returns

If Sarandos’s tease holds, the target is 2026. Expect more romantic whiplash, career curveballs, and postcard-ready travel detours. And yes, the Greece invite is sitting there like Chekhov’s plane ticket.
