Starring Jennifer Beals, Adrian Lyne's romantic drama follows Alex, a young woman from Pittsburgh who works in a steel mill but dreams of becoming a professional ballerina. Encouraged by her retired ballerina mentor to apply to the Pittsburgh Conservatory of Dance and Repertory, Alex takes a chance, but gets cold feet when she sees how rigorous the selection process is. It seems time to forget about the dream, but Alex meets a wealthy and handsome young man who falls in love with her and is determined to make her dreams come true.

Get Shorty (1995, 6.9 om IMDb)

This iconic gangster comedy stars John Travolta as Chili Palmer, a Miami-based mobster and loan shark who inadvertently becomes involved in a Hollywood movie production when his operation to collect a debt from a movie director goes awry. Long story short, Palmer helps adapt his rich criminal history into a fascinating story for the big screen. Denny DeVito, Rene Russo and Gene Hackman also star in the film.

An Officer and a Gentleman (1982, 7.1 on IMDb)

The classic romantic drama starring Richard Gere, Debra Winger, and Louis Gossett Jr. centers on Zack Mayo, an aspiring US Navy aviator at the beginning of his professional training. Zack's difficult time at military school is made even more difficult by his constant conflicts with his training sergeant. But Zack keeps going and even falls in love with Paula, a girl from the town where the school is located.
