Konami’s silence is deafening — it’s dragged on so long that even Bloober is being pressed for answers.

Silent Hill fans have been whispering about a Born from a Wish add-on for the Silent Hill 2 remake. I hate to be the bearer of bad vibes, but that rumor looks ice-cold right now.

So, about that Born from a Wish DLC...

Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, who plays both Mary and Maria in the remake, addressed the chatter during a recent Twitch playthrough of Silent Hill 2. She says she hasn’t recorded anything for a Born from a Wish scenario and, as far as she knows, nothing’s happening there.

"I’m not going to announce any Born from a Wish thing. I’ve been waiting for Konami to say something... I even asked Bloober if they were going to say something, but we have not recorded anything for Born from a Wish - I am so sorry."

She doubles down later, basically saying she doesn’t know anything else about it and apologizing again. Unsurprisingly, fans did the whole meltdown-on-social-media routine when clips from the stream started circulating on October 9, 2025. Rumors and sketchy leaks have been floating around for a while, but there’s still zero official word from Bloober Team or Konami about a Maria-focused add-on for the remake.

Quick refresher: what Born from a Wish even is

In the original Silent Hill 2, Born from a Wish arrived later as bonus content in an expanded release. It let you play as Maria in her own short scenario, separate from James. It’s a fan favorite, which is why every little whisper about a remake version sets the internet on fire.

At least we got some cool production tidbits

Gunnarsdóttir’s stream wasn’t all dashed hopes. She shared a few behind-the-scenes nuggets, like the fact that she did motion capture for one of James’s creepiest enemies, the Lying Figure. She talked about doing the creature’s movements, taking falls onto a gymnastics mat, and laughing that VFX artists made it look way gnarlier after the fact. Also: she wore massive chunky heels for the performance capture, which is both funny and kind of terrifying when you’re throwing yourself at the floor.

  • No one has recorded anything for a Born from a Wish scenario in the remake, per Gunnarsdóttir.
  • She says she’s asked both Konami and Bloober about announcements and heard nothing.
  • Clips of her stream hit social feeds on October 9, 2025, and fans did not take it well.
  • There’s still no official confirmation from Bloober or Konami that a DLC or second scenario is in development.
  • If you’re into process talk, her stream is worth a watch for the mocap stories alone.

A little design-history sidebar

If you like trivia, here’s a nugget from the old guard: developers have said that Maria’s original design was even more overtly sexy at first, but they toned it down because a plunging neckline caused too many technical headaches. File under: small decisions that shaped a horror icon.
