Typhoon Family episode 7 touches down Saturday, November 1, 2025—premiering on tvN around 9:10 p.m. KST before rolling out on Netflix worldwide with subtitles shortly after.

Typhoon Family is sticking to its weekend routine, and Episode 7 is next up. If you have a thing for scrappy CEOs making terrible-but-heroic decisions during the 1997 financial crash, this one has you covered. Also, yes, the eyeball collateral is exactly as wild as it sounds.

When and where to watch Episode 7

  • Date: Saturday, November 1, 2025
  • Time: About 9:10 PM KST
  • First airing (Korea): tvN
  • Streaming (Korea): TVING after broadcast
  • Streaming (International): Netflix, shortly after the tvN airing
  • Episode length: Around 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Season: 1

Heads-up on timing: Netflix drops tend to land soon after the live broadcast, but they are not always a minute-for-minute simulcast. Release times can vary by region and platform, so if you do not see it right away, give it a beat and refresh.

Quick catch-up before Episode 7

We left Kang Tae-poong, the previously carefree heir now running his father’s shaky Typhoon Trading Company, juggling crises on all sides during the 1997 IMF meltdown. With employee-turned-ally Oh Mi-seon, he has been wading through shady brokers, busted shipments, and debts that come with frankly unhinged terms. Exhibit A: he took out a secret loan and literally used his eye as collateral. That is not metaphor. That is the plot.

Episode 6 gave him a rare win: he moved 5,000+ pairs of their new shoes to a Mexican buyer after tossing together a durability demo video. It also pushed Tae-poong and Mi-seon closer, where the banter started leaning into something more than friends. Of course, the universe balanced the ledger: the shipping company refused to load his goods, and that off-the-books loan is now a ticking time bomb hanging over everything.

What Episode 7 is setting up

This week looks like fallout and damage control. Tae-poong has to eat the consequences of those impulsive choices, try to earn back Mi-seon’s trust, and figure out a new export route on the fly to keep the company from flatlining. The pressure is coming from everywhere at once: looming financial ruin, family stress, and a romance that is getting real at exactly the worst possible business moment. If the show keeps the recent pace, expect a couple clever pivots, at least one gut-punch setback, and more shoe-leather hustle against a brutal 90s economy backdrop.

Who is behind the show

Typhoon Family is written by Jang Hyun-sook and directed by Lee Na-jeong and Kim Dong-hwi. Part of why it is hitting so hard is the period detail: the sets, the textures, the general late-90s chaos. It feels lived-in without turning into nostalgia bait.

If you are watching on Netflix, you will get HD video with multiple subtitle and audio options, depending on your region. Subscriptions are required on TVING and Netflix, and pricing varies by country.
