Last time on HojoMaho (episode 3 recap)

We’re three episodes in, and the party headed down to level 64 of the dungeon, which locals lovingly call the 'Tank killing floor.' Not subtle.

Ornest immediately starts mowing through undead skeletons with his relic spear, Almaresteca — the show makes a point of saying it’s both eternally sharp and unbreakable. Meanwhile, Alec spots an invisible threat: a Grim Reaper. The team clears the opening wave, then goes hunting for the floor boss.

Instead they find another adventurer, Loki, sprinting from a boss-tier monster and yelling for help. Alec is not fooled. He knows Loki’s whole deal — calculating, slippery, and annoyingly brilliant. Loki tries to trap his way out with magic, but Alec cuts in, dismantles the monster with surgical precision, and then lets Ornest finish it off.

That’s when Loki starts playing the long game. He says the royal team blew it when they let Alec go, and he dangles a pricey relic called Schwart in front of him. The catch: Loki will only hand over Schwart if Alec takes down the floor’s final boss without using any magic. That’s not a small ask.

What episode 4 is lining up

Episode 3 quietly reveals the final boss: an undead suit of armor. Translation: high defense, low patience, and probably some gimmick that punishes brute force. So now Alec has to solve that puzzle under Loki’s no-magic condition if he wants Schwart.

Expect next week to deliver the actual boss fight and pull back the curtain on what Loki is angling for with this little challenge. The guy doesn’t do anything for free, and 'no magic' is a very specific constraint for a former court magician — which is exactly why it should be fun to watch him break the problem with pure strategy.
