Episode 3 of Boston Blue is nearly here, carrying the Blue Bloods legacy with the same grounded, gritty procedural punch that’s already hooked franchise diehards. Here’s when it drops and where to watch.

If you have a Blue Bloods-shaped hole in your schedule, Boston Blue is basically here to refill it. Episode 3 is up next, and yes, the rollout has been pretty smooth so far — familiar vibe, gritty cases, and plenty of Donnie Wahlberg doing what Donnie Wahlberg does.

When Episode 3 drops

Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 3 airs Friday, October 31, 2025 on CBS at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

  • Eastern Time: Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10 p.m.
  • Pacific Time: Friday, October 31, 2025 at 7 p.m.

Where to watch

It airs on CBS. If you live on that network for your comfort TV, you already know the lineup: NCIS, Blue Bloods, FBI, Survivor, 60 Minutes, The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS Mornings, Sheriff Country — and now Boston Blue.

Quick catch-up from Episode 2

Episode 2, 'Teammates,' paired up Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) on a murder case involving a whistleblower tied to one of District Attorney Mae Silver's (Gloria Reuben) prosecutions. Meanwhile, rookies Jonah (Marcus Scribner) and Sean (Mika Amonsen) geared up for their first official day with the Boston Police Department. If you liked the old-school, case-of-the-week energy of Blue Bloods, the first two hours have been right in that zone — grounded, procedural, and unflashy in a good way.

What the show is, in one line

'Follow NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.'

Small heads-up: the show materials can not seem to decide on the detective's last name — Episode 2 refers to her as Lena Silver, while the official synopsis says Lena Peters. Given that Mae Silver is Boston's DA in the show, 'Silver' would make sense thematically. Either way, she is Danny's new partner, and the dynamic is the point.
