Don't Leave Your Seat After M3GAN 2.0 Until You Read This

M3GAN 2.0 is officially in theaters, and yes — our favorite murder-doll is back with more sass, more violence, and now… competition.
But before you bolt the moment the credits roll, here's what you need to know:
Yes, there's an end credits scene. No, it's not essential.
The scene is mostly bonus content — a new dance sequence mixed with clips from both M3GAN movies. So if you're hoping for a major franchise tease or setup for M3GAN 3.0, you won't get it. But if you came for the chaos, the attitude, and the absurdity, it's a fun little tag.
Plot-wise, it picks up two years after the original. Gemma (Allison Williams) is forced to revive M3GAN after a rogue new A.I. named Amelia — built using her own stolen tech — goes off the rails and threatens humanity. So it's M3GAN vs. Amelia, with humanity caught in the middle.
As for the movie itself, critics are all over the place:
The Daily Beast says it's "cinematic malware" and calls it the "most convoluted 2025 theatrical release to date."
Digital Spy says turning M3GAN into a quip machine is "fun" but admits it's a "significant downgrade." Awards Watch gave it a C+, saying the film is too desperate to please and lost the weird magic that made the original work.
The general theme? Sequel syndrome — trying to be bigger, broader, and maybe a little too much of everything. But not everyone hated it.
Variety calls it "amusing at moments, overblown at others," and hopes M3GAN 3.0 goes full chaos. IGN liked the team-up dynamic and said M3GAN still steals the show.
The Wrap says "this year's model is a totally different ride — and that's a good thing."
Bloody Disgusting praises the switch to action sci-fi and a higher body count, calling it messy but effective summer fun.
