Disney’s villain-inspired anime is already leveling up: DisneyPlus has renewed Disney Twisted-Wonderland the Animation for Season 2, confirming the next chapter as its 2025 rollout continues.

Disney looked at its slick new villain-to-heartthrob anime and said, Yeah, we are not waiting. Season 2 is officially happening for Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation, and there is a teaser to prove it. If you are following the first season week-to-week, here is what is actually confirmed and what is still a little fuzzy.

What Disney just announced

On November 17, the official @DisneyPlus account posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the show is coming back for a second season while Season 1 keeps rolling out on Disney+ and Hulu.

"That is right! Season 2 has been announced!"

The teaser leans on footage from the current arc, Episode of Heartslabyul, which kicked off October 29, 2025. Midway through, it pivots to a first look at Leona Kingscholar, voiced by Yuichiro Umehara, making his animated debut. The clip also stamps the Season 2 title: Episode of Savanaclaw. Disney and the production team say it is actively in the works right now.

So what is Season 2 about?

Like Season 1, it is adapting one of the game arcs: Savanaclaw. Expect the story to stick with Yu at Night Raven Academy as they bump into the next dorm-centric crisis. If you have played the mobile game, you know the vibe: Disney villains reimagined as pretty-boy students and house leaders, each dorm riffing on a classic baddie.

How many seasons are planned?

Disney has already mapped this out as a three-season run, with each season adapting a major storyline from the game. Season 2 is the middle chapter. No premiere date yet, but the team reportedly spun up production right after Season 1 started airing.

Release and streaming details (plus a small wrinkle)

Season 1 episodes drop Wednesdays. Disney is pushing it on Disney+ globally, and episodes are also streaming on Hulu in the U.S. Aniplex is producing.

Now, about the episode count: official materials at one point described Season 1 as eight episodes, but some reports list it as four. The show is still rolling out, so consider that discrepancy a labeling issue rather than a plot twist.

The essentials, in order

  • Oct 29, 2025: Season 1 begins with Episode of Heartslabyul.
  • Late October 2025: Disney confirms the anime is planned as three seasons, each adapting a major game arc.
  • Nov 17, 2025: Disney+ posts a teaser confirming Season 2, titled Episode of Savanaclaw, now in active production; first animated look at Leona Kingscholar (Yuichiro Umehara) appears.
  • Ongoing: Season 1 streams weekly on Disney+ worldwide and on Hulu in the U.S.; production on Season 2 reportedly started shortly after the Season 1 launch.
  • TBD: No release date for Season 2 yet.

If you are new to Twisted-Wonderland

The anime adapts Aniplex and Disney's mobile game Twisted-Wonderland, which takes Disney villains and reimagines them as stylized students at Night Raven Academy. Each dorm pulls inspiration from a different villain domain, and each season is tackling one of those arcs in order.

Bottom line: Season 2 is locked, Savanaclaw is up next, and the first look just put Leona front and center. I will update when Disney stops being coy and gives us a date.
