Discover Brendan Hunt Beyond Ted Lasso: His Top 5 Roles
Coach Beard is Hunt's main role at the moment, but he's starred in a few more interesting projects.
The penultimate episode of Ted Lasso's Season 3 revealed that Ted and Beard have known each other since their college days, and all of despite Beard's later transgressions, Ted has supported him and remained a loyal friend. In real life, actors Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt are also good friends who, along with series co-creator Joe Kelly, are fellow alumni of the Boom Chicago troupe.
But while Sudeikis has long made a name for himself as an actor and comedian, Hunt has mostly remained in his peer's shadow, focusing more on writing and producing rather than acting. However, he does have quite a track record of great roles — here are five of Brendan Hunt's most prominent projects on our list.
5. Horrible Bosses 2 (2014)
IMDb score: 6.3/10
In this comedy movie, which continues the story of three goofballs who hate their bosses, Brendan Hunt played only a minor role, starring alongside Sudeikis. His character is a member of a sex addiction support group run by one of the main characters' bosses.
4. Bless This Mess (2019, 2 seasons)
IMDb score: 6.9/10
The short-lived comedy series follows the lives of a young New York couple who are forced to move to an inherited farm in Nebraska. Hunt played Frank, a local resident, appearing in six episodes of the show.
3. Reno 911! (2003, 8 seasons)
IMDb score: 7.9/10
Reno 911! is an incredibly funny show that satirizes cops and their working life. Brendan appeared in the Season 2 episode 'Extradition to Thailand,' playing a soccer hooligan.
2. Parks and Recreation (2009, 7 seasons)
IMDb score: 8.6/10
Hunt also had a brief stint on the cult sitcom Parks and Rec. In Episode 15 of Season 2, Leslie and Ann hold a public forum for the residents of Pawnee to alert people to the unsafe nature of local candy bars. Hunt's character is a local who took advantage of the situation to ask for Ann's phone number.
1. Key & Peele (2012, 5 seasons)
IMDb score: 8.3/10
Brendan Hunt is a great comedian, so it's no surprise that he was invited to join Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele's sketch show. The actor appeared in five episodes in Seasons 2 through 5, portraying characters ranging from a soccer announcer to a pirate.
