Stranger Things Season 5 is almost here. At the Los Angeles world premiere, Millie Bobby Brown teased a back-to-roots final chapter—pure Season 1 energy for day-one fans.

Stranger Things is about to take its final lap, and the vibe from the Los Angeles world premiere is pretty clear: we’re going back to where this whole thing started.

Season 1 energy, on purpose

Millie Bobby Brown says the last run leans hard into the show’s original DNA. If you love Season 1, she basically says this one is built for you. She even singled out callbacks tied directly to Eleven.

'I am really, really excited for everyone to see how everyone’s storylines tie back to season one.'

Brown added that she’s a big Season 1 person herself, which tracks with what Netflix just dropped to prove the point.

Netflix released the first five minutes, and it’s a throwback

The opening sequence jumps straight to November 12, 1983. Young Will Byers is stuck in the Upside Down, whisper-singing 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' to keep it together while a Demogorgon crashes in. He scrambles up a tree, fights to get away, and still gets pulled into a dark lair. Then Vecna shows up, not subtle about the agenda.

'At long last, we can begin... You and I, we will do such beautiful things together.'

So no, Season 5 isn’t picking up where Season 4 left off. It’s reaching all the way back to day one of Hawkins weirdness and making Will’s disappearance the entry point again.

About those Brown/Harbour rumors

In the lead-up, a tabloid report claimed Brown filed a harassment and bullying complaint about David Harbour before Season 5 started filming, with 'pages and pages' of accusations, and that she supposedly had a personal representative on set at all times. That’s a very Hollywood detail, and to be clear, none of that has been verified.

At the premiere, Brown and Harbour walked the carpet together, hugged, posed for photos, and generally looked fine. Brown told Extra TV they’re lucky to have each other, and she described their bond to Entertainment Weekly as a father-daughter relationship. Harbour told ET he adores her and is proud watching the kids turn into full-on artists. The Duffer brothers told The Hollywood Reporter that after a decade together, the cast and crew are basically family. Producer Shawn Levy called the rumor mill 'widely inaccurate' on the record. Make of that what you will, but the optics were unity, not beef.

The when and where to watch

Stranger Things Season 5 premieres November 26 at 5 PM PT on Netflix. If you want a taste before then, Netflix has the first five minutes up now.
