That kind of traction does not happen often, and it definitely signals real audience interest. Whether it will actually move the needle is another story.
About those odds
Petitions can spotlight fan support, but they rarely single-handedly change a cancellation. As a reality check, there was a recent genre show that amassed over 220,000 signatures after its cancellation and still did not land a fourth-season pickup. The truth is boring and very inside baseball: corporate strategy, budgets, and internal metrics you and I never see tend to win these fights.
