Despite Her Enormous Success in Music, Adele Would Rather Have This Job
Fifteen years after her debut, music remains a hobby for the singer.
Summary
- Adele is one of the most famous and successful female singers of all time.
- Still, she doesn't consider music to be her dream job.
- Adele would love to be involved in TV production – in a pretty minor way.
Although there are numerous artists who have succeeded in music, there are only a few at the top of the industry. Remarkably, female singers make up a large percentage of the most successful artists. Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Rihanna – these are just a few names that come to mind. However, there's one singer who stands out from the rest – Adele.
Since launching her career with the release of her first album, 19, in early 2008, Adele has become one of the most famous, popular, and successful female musicians of all time. While her net worth is estimated at a staggering $220 million, the British singer has only released four albums and toured three times, the most recent of which took place in 2016-2017.
Since 2022, Adele has had a residency in Las Vegas. And apparently, things are going well for the musician. But it turns out that music isn't Adele's dream job.
Hobby vs Dream Job
Considering Adele's remarkable success in music and her level of popularity with generations of audiences around the world, it is quite surprising that the singer still considers music to be her hobby. While she has reaped the rewards of her labor, the artist apparently doesn't feel fulfilled by it. Instead, Adele would like to have a very specific career in Hollywood.
'My dream job is to be a script reader. That's what I'd actually love. People think it's hilarious, and they don't take me seriously. And I often say to my manager, "I think I could make some really great stuff, I want to be really successful at something." And he's like, "What?!" I was like, "I know, but [music] is my hobby. I just fell into it and then it just happened. I want to be in TV and behind the scenes,"'Adele shared in a recent interview. 'That's my dream job.'
Interestingly enough, unlike many other A-listers, Adele doesn't feel like starting her own enterprise in the City of Stars. Instead, the singer wants to be part of something established and big.
'That's what everyone says. They're like, "Why don't you make [a production company]?" I don't want to build my own things, I want to work with something. I don't want to create something. I want to join something. That's how I feel,' Adele said.
It would definitely be interesting to watch a TV show created by Adele.
