File this under the crossover that almost happened: James Gunn says the Peacemaker Season 2 finale nearly slipped in Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool for a quick gag. Yes, Marvel's loudest merc almost wandered into DC territory for a blink-and-you-miss-it moment.

Gunn talked about it in a now-deleted Deadline interview, and the idea was as simple as it was chaotic: the Peacemaker crew opens a door... and there is Deadpool, just hanging out.

"I wanted them to open the door and see Deadpool in a room."
