Days of Our Lives Unmasks the Mastermind Behind the DiMera Kidnappings
Weeks of twists finally paid off as Days of Our Lives unmasked the DiMera kidnapper — Peter — and the motive is as personal as it is ruthless. Here’s how he pulled it off and why Salem won’t be the same.
Well, Days of Our Lives finally pulled back the curtain on the DiMera kidnapping saga, and the culprit is exactly the kind of deep-cut throwback this show loves. After weeks of finger-pointing (including at people inside the family), the kidnapper turned out to be Peter Blake. Yes, that Peter Blake.
Quick recap: how we got here
- The whole mess kicked off during the show’s 60th anniversary celebration when Kristen DiMera vanished.
- One by one, more DiMeras were snatched: Tony, Chad, Theo, and EJ.
- All of them were stashed in the family crypt, because of course they were.
- By the end of last week, Peter himself was also tossed into the crypt with the others, which raised eyebrows for the obvious reason: he has been off the canvas for over 30 years.
The unmasking in the crypt
Inside the crypt, everyone tried to piece together who was behind it. Theo connected the dots out loud: Peter being MIA for three decades and then conveniently getting nabbed with the rest of them didn’t add up. Theo went hands-on to check Peter’s pockets for a weapon, and things got ugly fast. During the scuffle, Peter shoved Theo, who fell, hit his head, and started bleeding.
That’s when Peter dropped the act and admitted the truth. He also upped the stakes by revealing a vial he said contained poisonous gas. The threat was simple: take one step toward him, and he would kill everyone in the room.
"Yes, you morons, it was me. I hadn’t meant to reveal myself so soon, but the end is the same. It doesn’t matter."
So... why did Peter do it?
Short answer: the show hasn’t told us yet. No official motive has been revealed on-screen. That said, fans are already connecting some very DiMera dots:
- Peter has long-standing resentment toward EJ and may blame him for a lot of family fallout over the years.
- There’s a running theme that other DiMeras skate by while Peter actually paid for his crimes. If he’s been stewing on that imbalance for decades, rounding up the entire family tracks as a revenge play.
Where this leaves the story
Peter Blake is the kidnapper. The DiMeras are trapped in their own crypt. Theo is hurt. Peter’s holding a vial he claims is lethal gas and says he’ll use it if anyone moves on him. It’s a vintage DOOL twist with a very 90s antagonist back in the mix, and the next beat hinges on the motive reveal the show is still holding back.
