Season 2 isn’t even out, but Marvel is already gearing up Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, with the writers’ room set to assemble soon, writer Jesse Wigutow told IGN.

Marvel is not waiting for the next batch of episodes to drop. Daredevil: Born Again is already moving on Season 3, even though Season 2 does not hit Disney+ until March next year. Inside baseball alert: they are staffing a writers room before the new season even airs.

Season 3 is a go, and the writers are assembling

Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for Season 3, and writer Jesse Wigutow told IGN that the writers room kicks off imminently.

The writers room starts meeting "next week" to begin work on the third season.

That is all Marvel is saying for now about Season 3. No plot details, no casting reveals yet — just that the work is starting.

First, Season 2 lands in March

Season 2 is due in March next year and will pick up right where Season 1 left off. Marvel is keeping specifics locked down (shocking, I know), but the rumor mill says Mike Colter and Finn Jones could show up again as Luke Cage and Danny Rand/Iron Fist — which would amount to a mini-Defenders reunion if it happens. Emphasis on rumor. Do not carve that into your billy club.

Who is back (and who is new) in Season 2

  • Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil
  • Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin
  • Krysten Ritter (previously confirmed; role not officially detailed here)
  • Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn
  • Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
  • Wilson Bethel as Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter/Bullseye
  • Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie
  • Genneya Walton as BB Urich
  • Clark Johnson as Cherry
  • Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake
  • Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk
  • Matthew Lillard (role TBA)
  • ...and more

The bottom line

Season 2 arrives in March, and Marvel is already spinning up Season 3. Not much to dissect yet beyond the writers-room timing and that stacked cast, but the early start suggests Marvel wants Daredevil to stay front and center on Disney+ for a while. If those Defenders rumors pan out, fans are going to lose it. If not, well, the Kingpin of Crime and Bullseye are plenty of trouble on their own.
