Dandadan fans face a long wait: anime leaker @SugoiLITE reports Season 3 is slated for 2027 with ScienceSARU returning, though no specific date has been set.

If you were hoping Dandadan would sprint back with Season 3 any time soon, brace yourself. The next chapter looks a lot farther out than anyone wanted.

'DANDADAN TV Anime Season 3 by Studio Science SARU is scheduled for 2027 broadcasting.'

What is and is not confirmed

That line came from anime leaker @SugoiLITE on X, posted December 18, 2025. As of now, there is no specific day or month attached to that 2027 window, and the official channels have not announced a date either. Season 2 wrapped on September 18 of this year, which makes the wait feel extra long given how abruptly the story paused.

Why the wait this time?

A few things are at play here, and some of it comes down to production realities that rarely get talked about unless you dig around:

First, Season 1 and Season 2 came out unusually fast, only seven months apart. That was possible because a lot of their production overlapped. In other words, chunks of both seasons were made side by side. Season 3 is not riding that overlap. It is being built from the ground up with new storyboards, new background art, fresh animation cuts, voice recording and mixing, and a new batch of music.

Second, Science SARU is busy beyond Dandadan. The studio also has a new Ghost in the Shell project slated for 2026, which is obviously a big resource drain. Juggling that and a large-scale Dandadan arc is a lot, even for a studio that runs hot.

And third, the next part of the story is big. That matters. The scale of what Season 3 needs to adapt is larger than what the show has tackled so far. If the studio is taking its time to avoid cutting corners, fine by me. The lack of a firm date does make the wait feel longer, though, so whenever they can lock one in, that would help.

What Season 3 should cover

The plan, based on where Season 2 stopped and what has been teased, is to dig into the Space Globalists Arc. It is a hefty run of chapters with a lot of moving parts, and it sets the table for the next phase in a big way.

  • Season 1: Episodes 1–12 adapt Chapters 1–33 (Ghost & Turbo Granny Arc)
  • Season 2: Episodes 13–24 adapt Chapters 34–71 (Kaiju & Mecha Arc)
  • Season 3: Episodes 25–TBA aim for Chapters 72–120 (Space Globalists Arc)

For scale, that Space Globalists stretch runs across volumes 9–14. Expect major turns like Reiko Kashima stepping in and the crew getting an education in alien tech, which pushes the story into its next gear. There is also chatter that the Onbusuman Arc could get teased by the end of Season 3, setting up a likely Season 4. That part is not confirmed, so treat it as a maybe until the show says otherwise.

The basics (and where to watch)

Title: Dandadan

Studio: Science SARU

Genre: Action, Supernatural Thriller

Anime premiere: October 4, 2024 (Season 1)

IMDb: 8.3/10

MyAnimeList: 8.45/10 for Season 1, 8.45/10 for Season 2

Streaming: Crunchyroll and Netflix have all of Season 1 and Season 2 right now.

Bottom line

2027 is a long wait, especially after that September finale. But given the size of the next arc and Science SARU juggling a 2026 Ghost in the Shell project, the slowdown tracks. Whenever an exact date lands, I will take it. Until then, if you need a refresher, both seasons are up on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
