There is no official confirmation from Marvel Studios or from Jones himself.
How it fits into Marvel’s current plan
Part of why this took off: Marvel has been steadily pulling the old Netflix/Defenders crew into the main MCU.
- Charlie Cox’s Daredevil crossed over first, popping up in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
- That led into the revival series Daredevil: Born Again, which firmly plants the Defenders corner inside the MCU and brings back other familiar faces, including Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.
- Marvel has also confirmed Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones.
So is Finn Jones actually back?
Short answer: not yet, officially. Jones has not made an official MCU appearance to date. He has, however, shown interest in returning. Earlier this year he posted a photo with his Iron Fist co-star Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing) captioned 'Reunion,' which poured a little extra gasoline on the speculation fire.
As of right now, all we really have is a dojo photo and a fan base very ready to see Iron Fist get another shot. If Marvel wants Danny Rand back, the runway is clearly there. Until someone makes it official, keep your expectations in neutral and your chi balanced.
