After scoring a breakout with Sinners, Michael B. Jordan says Creed 4 is coming—but the franchise is shifting to the next generation, kicking off with an Amazon spinoff that puts Adonis Creed’s daughter Amara front and center.

Michael B. Jordan just laid out where Creed goes next, and it is not all on his shoulders anymore. Fresh off delivering one of the biggest original hits with Sinners, he confirmed Creed 4 is real and will happen — but the franchise is about to widen the frame in a big way.

Amara takes the lead on TV

Jordan told Variety that Amazon has picked up a series centered on Adonis Creed's daughter, Amara. He is thinking long game here — expanding the world so it does not live or die on him climbing back between the ropes every time.

"We are spinning off doing Adonis's daughter, Amara's story, the television show that's picked up at Amazon. So you'll be seeing different parts of the Creed-verse, I like to call it. These little IPs are going to keep the universe alive without it being completely reliant on just me to push it through the finish line every time as a boxer. I'll be adjacent."

Translation: Jordan will be around, but not necessarily as the guy in the title fight. And yes, that is the same Amara played in Creed 3 by Mila Davis-Kent, a deaf actor who made a strong impression.

Creed 4 is coming — just not with a 60-year-old Adonis

Jordan says the fourth movie will eventually materialize. He is not thrilled about the idea of suiting up 15 years from now, but he believes there is still more to say with Adonis, and fans should expect to see that when the follow-up to the threequel moves forward.

The Jonathan Majors question

Here is where it gets messy. Jonathan Majors was a huge part of Creed III as Damian Anderson — easily one of that movie's biggest highlights — so naturally people are wondering if he returns for Creed 4. The complication: Majors was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment, which puts any comeback into serious doubt.

At the same time, Jordan has publicly backed Majors since those legal issues, which clouds the picture even more. He said:

"But he's doing great, just got engaged. I'm proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I'm glad he's good. That's my boy."

So, will Jordan bring Majors back into the fold through Creed? Right now, that is a wait-and-see.

What to watch for next

  • Amazon's Amara-focused series is happening, with Jordan involved but not front and center.
  • Creed 4 is planned; Jordan thinks there is more to explore with Adonis, even if he is not eager to be fighting 15 years from now.
  • Jonathan Majors's return as Damian is undecided after his misdemeanor assault and harassment conviction, despite Jordan's supportive comments.
  • Mila Davis-Kent, who played Amara in Creed 3, is the face of the spin-off setup.
  • Creed 3 is available to rent on Apple TV (USA).
