Cameras are rolling on Corriedale as production kicks off.

Yep, it’s really happening: Coronation Street and Emmerdale are crashing into each other for a proper crossover. It’s currently called ‘Corriedale’ and it’s actually filming right now. Details are locked down tighter than the Rovers’ jukebox, but there are already little hints popping up if you know where to look.

What we know so far

  • Title: ‘Corriedale’ (for now)
  • Status: Filming is underway
  • Easter egg: John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) has already been spotted in Corrie… on a poster
  • Vibe on set: Cast are into it, it’s new and weird in a good way
  • Behind the scenes: Logistical headache, everyone hustling to make the two worlds line up
  • Airdate: No date yet — still under wraps

I caught the latest from executive producer Kate Brooks during a press chat, and without giving away plot (she really did not want to give away plot), she said the shoot is going smoothly — and more importantly, the actors are having a blast because this isn’t just a quick cameo swap. It sounds bigger and stranger than the usual soap routine, which is exactly the point of doing it.

Brooks also flagged the stuff fans will love: you’re going to see hints and teases roll out across the next few weeks and months. One of them is already live — that John Sugden poster cameo in Corrie — which feels like a deliberate breadcrumb for the superfans keeping score. Production-wise, she was pretty open that knitting two long-running shows together is no small thing. Schedules, sets, story timelines — it’s a lot. But apparently the team has been all-in to make it work.

"As a soap fan, the idea of sitting down with your two favourite shows with all your favourite characters in this massive, unmissable piece of tele, it’s amazing."

Brooks described the mood on set as genuinely infectious — big camaraderie, big energy — and credited both the cast and crew for pulling off a bit of a logistical magic trick. Translation: it’s taken a ton of planning to get everyone in the right place at the right time, and they’re proud of how it’s coming together.

As for when we’ll actually see it? Nothing concrete yet. For now, keep an eye on both shows — if they’re already sneaking John Sugden into background posters, there are definitely more breadcrumbs on the way.
