It's hard to believe, but he's even nicer than he seems.

Summary

  • Season 3 will see good boy Colin Bridgerton turn into a lecherous stud.
  • Throughout the two seasons of the show, he has been seen as a nice guy.
  • If you watch the show again, you will notice that Colin has a peculiar trait.

As Season 3 of Bridgerton gets closer by the day, viewers are getting more and more excited about the love story of Colin and Penelope, which the upcoming installment will explore in contrast to the narrative pattern of Julia Quinn's novel series from which the Netflix show is adapted. And apparently, there are many reasons to be thrilled with Polin's story.

First and foremost, Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington have been friends for many years, which means they have a very deep connection. Secondly, Pen has had a crush on Colin throughout the first two seasons of the period drama. But most importantly, it will be fascinating to watch Colin, usually very decent and demure, turn into a lust-ridden bad boy as he explores his feelings for Pen.

After all, in Seasons 1 and 2, the third Bridgerton brother was portrayed as an almost sexless, impassive and somewhat naive creature. But it's fair to say that these qualities made Colin utterly endearing. But he has an even more adorable trait that only becomes apparent on second viewing.

The Knight in Shining Armor

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Colin is an idealist. In fact, that's why he's a black ship among his older brothers, both of whom have a rich sexual history. Meanwhile, Colin has been looking for his one and only to spend the rest of his life with because that's what he believes is right and good.

In other words, Colin has an ideal of a gentleman and tries to live up to it in everything he does. For example, he always tries to help people in need, especially damsels in distress. In Season 1, the entire arc of Colin and Marina is about him trying to save her – from Lord Rutledge during the ball in Episode 4, from feeling like a stranger when he introduced her to the rest of the Bridgertons, and from the embarrassment of her illegitimate pregnancy if she had been honest with him about it.

The Savior

In Season 2, Colin saves the Featheringtons from their swindler of a cousin, Jack, whose charms he briefly fell under himself. Colin was instrumental in bringing down the new heir to the Featherington estate. In addition to helping Penelope's family, the third Bridgerton brother also saved Will Mondrich's gentlemen's club by bringing in a lot of new customers.

Needless to say, Colin also saved Penelope from the voracity of the Ton when he invited her to dance with him. He has to be a hero, and it's absolutely adorable. And who knows if it's this trait of Colin's that will drive him to 'save' Penelope from becoming an old maid when Season 3 premieres on May 16.

Do you think Colin has a savior complex?
