Code Violet on PC: The Odds, the Roadblocks, and When It Could Finally Drop
Code Violet is gunning for action-horror survival glory with showpiece visuals—but there’s a catch. The studio is building it specifically for PlayStation 5, with no plans for a PC or non-PlayStation release.
Heads up if you like your horror loud and your frame rates louder: Code Violet looks like a wild, stylish action-horror with survival elements, but you are going to need a PS5. Full stop. The studio behind it is building the whole thing around Sony hardware and is not planning a PC, Xbox, or anything-else release anytime soon.
Where you can actually play it
- PS5: Confirmed. The game is being designed for PS5 specifically, aiming to lean hard on the console's GPU features and overall horsepower.
- PC and Xbox: Not planned. There are no announced plans, no hints, and no wiggle words. Even though other TeamKill titles have ended up on PC before, this one is not on that path right now.
- Nintendo Switch/Switch 2: Maybe later, but only as a heavily scaled-down, different version if it happens at all. The PS5 build would not run as-is on Nintendo hardware.
Why lock it to one box?
TeamKill Media is chasing a single-platform strategy here. They design their tech, visuals, and performance targets around PlayStation from day one, instead of spreading development across multiple platforms. It is not the most popular approach with players who want everything everywhere, but it does let them optimize for one machine rather than juggle compromises across three or four.
The Switch question, answered
The studio did acknowledge Switch/Switch 2 as a future possibility, but only if the game is rebuilt for that hardware. They flat-out said the PS5 version would not run on Switch without major cuts.
'We would definitely look at the Switch in the future. However, the PS5 version would never run on the Switch or Switch 2 because we are using an intense amount of graphically expensive features, so it would have to be a very different version at a later point in the future.'

The backlash (and the line that was crossed)
Because nothing can just be simple online, the platform decision drew heat, and some people took it out on one of the game’s voice actors, Alaina Wis. That is over the line. After a dust-up on social media, TeamKill said they deleted a post that stirred up a hateful dogpile and backed their actor publicly. On Dec 19, 2025, they reiterated they put their own money and time into these games and they are not going to be bullied into changing platforms.
Bottom line
Code Violet is a PS5-first, and for now PS5-only, project. If you are on PC or Xbox, keep expectations at zero unless the studio says otherwise down the road. If you are holding out hope for a Switch 2 version, think 'bespoke port' more than 'straight-up PS5 equivalent'—if it happens at all.
What are you playing on these days: PS, Xbox, PC, or Switch? I am curious where everyone lands on exclusives like this.
