Kratos isn’t done. After the thunderclap of the 2018 reinvention and Ragnarök, God of War fans are mobilizing for the next chapter—and they won’t accept an ending.

Kratos might not be done smashing his way through myth just yet. Christopher Judge, the voice of the big guy himself, dropped a comment at a fan event that has God of War faithful reading tea leaves and maybe planning for a trilogy.

So, what did Christopher Judge actually say?

During a panel at MCM London Comic Con, Judge was asked about what could be next for the series. He said he would love the next game to go to Egypt, partly because he is so closely tied to Teal'c from Stargate, and heading to Egypt would feel like closing a personal loop. That alone is catnip for fans.

"But whatever is decided - wait... if there is another game, I have no doubt that no matter what pantheon it is, it will be great."

That little pause is what sent people spinning. Was he about to spill something he should not, or was it just an excited actor choosing his words on the fly? Either way, it is a tantalizing tease. Nothing is confirmed, but it is hard not to feel like something could be cooking at Santa Monica Studio.

Quick context for where we left Kratos

God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok reframed Kratos without losing the operatic scale, and they hit hard. Ragnarok leaves him in a rare place: not raging, not grieving, but at peace. The DLC epilogue even shows a mural of him being honored as a savior. Meanwhile, Atreus heads off to figure out his own path. Clean endings in this series are rare, but this one landed on something close to closure.

If there is another game, where could it go?

  • Egypt, obviously: Judge floated it, and the pantheon gives plenty of targets. It would also be a neat personal full-circle moment for him after Stargate.
  • Peace interrupted: Someone threatens the fragile calm Kratos finally earned, and he is forced back into the fight.
  • The Atreus route: Shift the focus to the kid, with Dad as backup when things go sideways.
  • Split the difference: A true handoff story, weaving father and son arcs into one last run.

The fandom sleuthing, explained

Fans have been hoping the reboot era would turn from a duology into a trilogy. Judge's wording is not confirmation, but it is just specific enough to get people thinking the third chapter might already be quietly underway. One small note for anyone confused by the chatter: when people say God of War 3 here, they mean a third entry in the modern saga. Yes, there is already a game called God of War III from the original run. The naming is messy. Welcome to video games.

Bottom line: nothing official yet, but Judge knows how to light a signal flare. If Kratos returns, it needs to be for something worthy of where Ragnarok left him. Should he finally get to rest, or do we want one last war before the axe goes back on the hook?
