Chris Evans Never Been Ghosted, but Experienced Something 'Much Worse'
But now he’s have found love and has 'never been happier'.
Ghosted star Chris Evans was voted PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in November 2022. But that doesn’t mean his love life has always been easy.
Evans, whose latest role sees him play a farmer who goes on a date with a girl Sadie (played by Ana de Armas) who subsequently ghosts him. And while the Captain America star says he’s never been ghosted in real life, he also claims to have suffered a much worse fate.
'I've had the slow decline in text responses, and you just know the person is pushing you aside casually.' He said in an interview with People. 'I think I'd prefer being ghosted because you can make up any story you want.'
Not that the 41-year-old is currently in the dating game. He’s been with Portuguese actor Alba Baptista for over a year now, and the World’s Sexiest Man is said to have 'never been happier' according to a source who spoke to People.
The Hollywood star says these days he’s a 'much better' partner than he was in his younger years – and he also explained how his first kiss came when he was cast as a lead role in a school play. He said, 'after getting the lead, one of the cool girls liked me, and what the cool kids did at recess was walk into the woods and kiss'. So, acting proved to be a magnet for Evans from a young age.
And Evans says he’s learnt a lot over the years about what makes strong relationships work. 'You spend a lot of time learning what's been helpful and what hasn't been,' he admitted. 'We all have patterns, hang-ups or baggage that repeat and echo, so I've really been able to kind of identify where I need improvement and what works.'
But what does a grownup relationship look like to him?
'I don’t like to argue,' Evans says, 'I don’t like to raise my voice, or any form of manipulation.' But he is a fan of 'vulnerability and humility' and enjoys 'declarations of love.'
He also values calmness and the 'strength behind saying 'I'm sorry.''
Whether his relationship with Alba Baptista is one that will end in marriage, casually being pushed aside, or somewhere in between is yet to be seen. But for now, he’s happy, healthy and has still never been ghosted.
